3 MONTH UPDATE: It’s been used daily since it arrived a few months ago without any problems whatsoever. Once made, the ice does not stay frozen in the plastic basket forever, the basket becomes full and the ice will eventually begin melting back down to water and fall into the water container where it cycles back through into new ice (so it’s always producing fresh ice). I knew we were buying an ice maker not a freezer, so that was expected and does not bother us. Kids love it because the ice cubes are just the right size for some of their small opening hydro flasks that they take to school every day.

Michele Hawkins: I do like this bc it makes ice pretty quick. Very quiet. The only thing that I would say negative would I be that’s once the ice dumps in the basket, you need to move it to the freezer asap bc it melts slightly. You just have to break he ice back up before you use it once you get it out of the freezer.

Elizabeth Wey: No muse No fuse Better than buying ice in the bags. My ice maker broke in my fridge. I'd been buying ice in the bags for a couple of months. It got expensive and it wasn't even summer yet. This make is so easy to use. I just make enough to fill my ice dispenser in the fridge and make more when it's empty. Takes no time at all. The machine is very quite and takes up little room on my counter.

Beth Lochrie: Ok I already reviewed this... See below....BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH I HAVE ANOTHER STAR! I've had this a while and it is the best ice maker I've ever had. And I've had at least a dozen. This thing is problem free and makes great ice. It doesn't make any crazy noises. Doesn't get clogged up. Makes ice so fast. you can't go wrong. Buy this!!!

First review... So I'm literally obsessed with ice and ice machines. I've bought so many different kinds from high priced to affordable. I love nugget ice but three of those very expensive machines died on me. I got this one after reading reviews etc and I am very happy so far. It is light enough to move out around if need be. It makes ice very quickly and quietly. The ice is not nugget but still really good. It's on almost 24/7 without a glitch. I honestly think you'd be happy if you purchased this unit... One of the best I've had by far. I do use distilled water BTW.

RockyMtnMama: When I received this machine, there was a very visible scratch on the inside of the "window" on the top of the machine. I initiated a return, but when I saw the machine was (at that time) no longer available, I decided to at least try using it to see if I really wanted to go through with the hassle of making the return - and I'm really glad I waited! The machine produces ice quickly and quietly, and the ice is very chewable - much like the "nugget ice" at some fast food restaurants. I had previously considered dropping 3X+ the amount of money on the GE nugget ice maker, and what a waste that would have been! Also important: the small ice cubes fit easily through the openings of our S'well water bottles.

I agree with other reviewers that a good system for making ice from this machine (or probably any countertop machine, for that matter) is to store the freshly-made ice cubes in a freezer bag at first and place the bag in the freezer until the water on the outside of the ice cubes freezes solid - then break up the ice in the bag before dumping it into the ice container of your freezer - otherwise, if you make a big batch of ice it will all freeze onto your ice container in...
