Clarkman: This ice cream maker is brought to us by a Chinese company. I am an engineer by trade, and appreciate well made, simple tools that do their job well. Ours works great. Recommend starting by following their recipes to the tee. Okay, we found that substituting chocolate milk for regular milk in the chocolate ice cream recipe is yummm. One comment is that the ice cream is fairly soft when it begins to rotate on the blade (it is done). If you want firmer make an hour ahead and place in freezer.

Frederick Pittman:
Initial review upon completion of the first batch of ice cream.
The machine is very attractive, not too heavy, and easy to use. The quality seems to be very good
I made a custard style recipe which I had to cook. I prepared a ice bath to rapidly cool to below room temperature. I let the machin run on freeze mode (no mixing) for about 20 minutes to ensure the canister and freezing process was well underway before pouring the mixture into the machine. Rapid freezing makes for smaller crystals which means a smoother texture.
After that, I poured the mixture in and put the machine on freeze and mix mode. I set the time for 45minutes, however it only took about 30 min to actually freeze. This resulted in an extremely smooth ice cream.
Overall — I am extremely impressed with this product. You end up with a process that is very similar product to a commercial product. At $200, I think it is an exceptional deal. Time will tell as I see if the machine holds up. My initial impression is that the machine is quality built machine and I expect to get years of great homemade ice cream.

NEGATIVES REVIEWS & MY EXPERIENCE
Before I purchased this IC maker, I read a lot of reviews here and all over the internet, and several negatives kept coming up, so I was nervous about the purchase. Since I bought it, I’ve made about 20-ish batches, so here’s my take of the negatives I’ve read.
1. “The ingredients are too expensive, so it costs more than store bought.” Yup. Vanilla and whipping cream costs money. In fact, because I was blasting through vanilla so fast (4oz for $12 at Walmart), I have since purchased real vanilla beans and am currently soaking them in a jar for future use. Less $ and better flavor. But YES, homemade IC cost money. It’s not a way to save money; it’s for enjoying MUCH better flavored ice cream. For me, homemade IC is more like a hobby - but, SO worth it! It’s SO good that I am absolutely addicted and will never go back! Homemade IC is the chateaubriand of dessert, and store bought is ramen noodles.
2. “Scrapping the stuff out of the blades is a hassle. “ Yeah, right, it does take about 30 seconds with a small spatula. If that’s too much for you, then you are a store-bought person. ...

Michelle Rudolph: I got it as a gift and was I surprised! I absolutely LOVE it. It does the job well. The condenser does it's job and cools the mixture down and makes a nice soft serve. After it sits in the freezer it makes a wonderful standard texture ice cream. It IS noisy. It's not the condenser that's loud it's the mixer. But, it doesn't take long for the ice cream to blend and harden. I received two freezer containers and the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream book. Besides being loud the cookbook has some very confusing recipes which makes the cookbook a necessity. It has measurements of 3/2c of cream. Is that 1 1/2 cup milk or a typo?
Other than those two complaints I love it. I've been trying to find another mixing bowl for it because most of the recipes make more than one bowl full. Each recipe, even from their book, makes more than one mixing bowl full.
