Fran: Se compró para actualizar un Mac Book Pro de 2010 que todavía está en perfecto estado y funcionando, pero que con los 4 gigas de memoria que tenía empezaba a ir lento y con reinicios. Al duplicar la memoria a 8 gigas, todo va mucho más fluido y rápido, sin parones. Además una marca como Corsair es garantía de calidad. Muy recomendable.

Zeek: RAM works as described. There's not much else to really say about it.

However, I'm posting the rest of this review to alert people attempting to install RAM into a MacBook Pro 15'' Mid-2010 model. It appears as though if you seat the RAM and push just a tiny bit too much, the RAM will become stuck between the connector and the metal bar the separates the motherboard from the battery. I tried repeatedly to push the RAM back up, so I could reseat it properly, but it wouldn't budge (as moving the plastic parts that keep the RAM in place did nothing. I then feared that I would bend the RAM too much and possible break it).

What I ended up having to do was remove the motherboard just enough so I could free the RAM (I followed the guide for replacing the motherboard on iFixIt). If you search around the internet, there are others that experienced this problem with this model of MacBook; some tried taking it to the Apple store, sometimes with success (but, due to the age of the MacBook, your mileage will vary, as Apple will no longer repair it officially. For instance, the Apple store near me attempted to move the RAM, but failed, so I ended up doing it myself).

imiahus: My MacBook was getting slower by the day which in fact I started with 4GB (2x2). After upgrading my OS gradually over the years from Leopard to Snow Leopard to Lion and now Mountain Lion my MacBook has been noticeably getting hanged frequently, the cursor went into spinball and I wondered why, which previously I have no issues on this.

Then, I installed an app, called FreeMemory, which can free up some memory space. It helped initially and I can see how the system was eating up the memory very quickly and I have to frequently free up the memory space, and I was getting frustrated when this happened every time. So I thought the best way is to upgrade my MacBook RAMs.

So I searched around on popular online shopping websites such as eBay, Amazon and our local websites. By the way I am from Singapore, so the shipping cost was also a factor to consider when I made my purchase. I came across 3 reputable brands Kingston, Crucial and Corsair all from Amazon and also from eBay merchants. I did my due diligence by reading reviews and decided to settle for Corsair over the other brands. Of course there are pros and cons comments given by buyers.

NetworkWraith: I have used lots of Memory modules over the years, and Corsair has come to be one of my top choices when making a purchase. I recently obtained the Corsair [Apple Approved] 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1066 PC3-8500 DDR3 Memory for my Macbook Pro 13" (Late 2009 - 2010 model). The memory itself worked on boot up no issues, and as far as the installation on the macbook pro, its not so bad. Granted the install is a lot different than that of the white MacBooks, but it is still pretty simple. All that is required is a small screwdriver and some patience. There are many tutorials on how to do this on Youtube, pretty much its as simple as removing 10 little screws (I would highly recommend keeping them in order, as at least 3 of the screws are longer and must go back in specific holes) and having somewhere to place them safe so they don't fall or get lost. ** Of course as always due care is required when touching or changing components inside your computer, things like a simple static charge on your fingers can be an issue (like when you rub your socks on the ground and shock your friend... not so funny with a computer) **
