It has a long reach which is important for a short person. It worked well on my climbing rose. A very good product.

BR: I broke my last branch cutter, it was only a 1 to 1 force ratio, this one is a 3 to 1. It's heavy duty which is OK by me. I tend to cut bigger than normal branches during tree trimming, after the main branch is on the ground, no need for the chain saw with this tool. This one had no problem as I put one handle on the ground & my full weight on the other handle to make the cut. It cost a bit more but I felt it was worth it, this one shouldn't break like the lighter duty one did.

Joe W.: Mine needed sharpening from its arrival. Tried to cut even a small branch, the blade resisted traveling through the 1”branch . So determined upon careful inspection the blade was flawed and not sharp creating resistance when cutting. Worked well enough to 1 and a half inch branch after sharpening. Had a great old geared looper that spoiled me this one doesn’t measure up to that 25 year old performance but it grew legs so this will have to do.

Gallagher: Well made, with plenty of leverage. The forged jaw assembly cuts on the first time without having to repeatedly hack at it. This is especially helpful when cutting woody vines or 'stringy' branches.
In summary, needing to use loppers already means that you are in for work, but with these loppers, they will not add to your workload.
