Cordless Leaf Blower Powered by Yard Force Lithium-Ion Battery

A. Gholkar: The Lawnmower itself is well designed, considerably silent equipment. The challenge starts with usage over period of time. Any wear and tear as a result of normal usage needs tune up and upkeep. There is no option for Yard force machines to get tuned up especially if it is all Battery charged. The time it takes for metrotec to react is considerably large. The battery charger went bad after 4 years, and I was looking for replacement. There is no stock and I have no option to mow the lawn right now unless I buy a new mower. Metrotec service rep responded by saying - "sorry, go figure yourself or wait for stock to be back in a few months time"! Mowing cannot wait and this kind of service was not expected.
For any large equipment buy, unless there is after sales service options and parts available at reasonable price point, there is no point in buying "online". Lesson learnt - Expensive though!
Unless Yard Force is available in local stores, cannot rely on their decently good product!

bcranbcran: Pros:
- Long battery life
- Light weight - its easy to push around without using the self propulsion. Like around trees and other small areas. Its also much lighter than a gas powered unit, which makes my wife happy.
- Single point raise/lower is really nice
- Easy attach side discharge and bag
- Folding handle is really nice. I lay it flat for storage. Cam lock levers had to be tightened a little bit, but personal preference.

Cons:
- This is a big one for me. I wanted that extra inch, over traditional 21" mowers. Its not really a 22" - its a 22" deck with a 21" blade. This means you have to learn to intentionally overlap the wheels in order to cut all the grass and not leave a strip.
- This might be a little hard to describe, but its a bigger deal for me. When using the self propel feature, the wheels stay "locked" when you try to pull the mower backwards. Results in dragging the rear wheels backwards. To "unlock" the wheels, you have to let go of the handle well ahead of your direction change and let it coast, or worst...you have to push the mower slightly forward to "unlock" the drive wheels. This is an annoying little quirk that I'll learn to get...

John Wick: Positives
- Easy assemble
- Large, but lightweight, a bit noisy, but FAST charger
- EASY conversion from mulch to side discharge
- EASY startup, self propel
- Torque power up in tall/thick grass
- No air filter, spark plug, choke, oil, gas
- Self propel slider works great to walking speed (or faster or slower)
- Awesome, one lever height adjustment
- Runs on one or two batteries, no difference in slot...it draws from one, then the other.

Negatives:
- 100 min runtime....maybe sitting in the driveway...but not while cutting grass + 2/3 self propel.
Yes, with both batteries installed...just doesn't seem to go that long. I'll run two batts until one shows depleted, then throw it on the charger, finishing a section of yard with the second battery. When it dies, I pull the 2/3 charged battery off the charger to finish the section (my front yard is about 7000 sq feet, but with more turns/elevation than flat square.
- Mulching blade...sure, it mulches, but after 3 days of no rain, cutting in the evening (dry grass), I have to clean the underside of the deck 2-3 times in a smaller section of yard (3000 sq ft) Switched to the side chute...still had...
