Tesswolfe90: I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank and we often struggle with algae blooms. This last water change was particularly bad and caused our tank to be so green, you couldn't even see the fish inside it! I read about these UV lights online and decided to give this one a try. 3 days after we installed it on the tank, I noticed the water start to clear up a bit and by day 6 our water was nearly clear! All of the green hue is gone! There is still some lingering cloudiness but I assume it's because it is time for another water change. I am very happy with this product, it definitely does what it says it will do!

Marey ShriverMarey Shriver: This filter really works. We had gone on 2 vacations this year that resulted in a crazy algae bloom. It was thick. I tried everything to fix it, but eventually it killed multiple fish including many fry. After the second Bloom I completely changed to a new tank, then cleaned and refilled the original and ran it until I was convinced it wasn't coming back. Them after a month or so I put the fish back into original tank using the water in the tank they had temporarily in as it was in a stable nitrogen cycle. After a few weeks I got the foggy water then after a few water cycles the algae showed up again. So desperate to finally get this under control I came across this filter. After 3 days of running it the algae significantly decreased, then 7 days I. It was mostly gone, then 14 days in the cloudy water subsided. This has caused me so much time and stress, and the filter has fixed it all. I highly recommend this for anyone struggling with algae blooms and possibly cloudy water as well.

ram8nyc: It seems to be working, 3rd day and the water is much cleaner. The water flow is pretty strong. I placed a piece of drift wood in front of the nozzle to show the flow down. The valve to adjust does very little. I managed to lower the bubbling affect to almost nothing. I was going to return it and get the smaller model but the traps I set up are slowing the flow of water to the community tank and the lil ones seem to be doing fine. I'll set up a timer to the unit in a day or two, so it turns on on different days to maintain the water. Let's see how it goes. If you need aeration to the tank this unit produces it very well. I don't use it cause the bubbles burst under my glass cover and produces algae. Hope this helps

JerryJerry: I purchased back in May. Worked fine for few months. And then is went down hill for me. I'm glad other people have had a better experience than I did. That why I bought it based on reviews.
When I did the bulb replacement I saw that the one that came installed in the device was not even from factory it was from a competitor. (Check picture to see the used one to the replacement that came with the item) couple moths in the iconic shatter proof rubber that comes with it. Got burned out as shown in the picture. The blue light indicator they claim to be solid when working properly does not appear when I close the lid. I don't know if I got a defective item. But when I emailed seller all they could say was that the light is barely noticeable and to try plugging it before I closed the lid and that they only use products that their company makes. In my case that was not it. The original bulb came with Sun Sun another brand that is on Amazon. I reached out to them again because it was no longer working for me and have not heard a response. So I'm stuck with this device with no help from seller. Hope you have a better experience.
