JohnG: I use these to hold filter media and phosphate balls for my salt water aquarium.
The zipper on these bags are a lot more convenient than the string ties that are on other bags that I have used in the past.
This is especially helpful for times when I need to replace the phosphate removal balls (every 4 days) or rinse off the filter media (about every three months).
For filter media, I prefer to use multiple smaller bags. With multiple bags, I can arrange them in my sump to get the best flow pattern through the media.
The pack I purchased came with 8 bags (4 black, 4 white). I prefer the black ones because they are less visible and give a cleaner look.
