A Loy: Wish I had found these years ago. They make bottle conditioning so much easier.

Amazon Customer: Helpful tip for anyone else with 16 oz bottles, a pill cutter is like 2-3 dollars and will cut them perfectly in half. One and a half per bottle works perfectly!

Francis M. Van Meter: They recommend 1 per 16 oz and 2 per 24 oz bottle. The head is a little weak with this amount. I've been using 2 per 16 oz and 3 per 24 oz bottle, much better head and no bottle explosions yet. If you are being cheap ($0.19/tab), one level teaspoon of table sugar = 1 tab)

M. Salsbury: I've been home brewing for several years now. I started with extract brewing, then went all-grain. I've used a number of methods for carbonation during that time.
Table sugar added into the bottle before filling and capping: This is relatively inexpensive and easy, but can be a little messy. Some say you get off-flavors from this, but I've never noticed it. It requires you to figure out the right amount of sugar for the amount of beer you're bottling and the carbonation level you want, but it's a decent solution in my experience.
Corn sugar dissolved in boiling water, cooled, and added to the bottling bucket: This is probably the most common method used, and possibly the least expensive. It yields the best control over the amount of carbonation since you calculate and measure out the sugar based on the desired carbonation level and batch size. It's not as easy as the table sugar method, but not exponentially more difficult. Most home brewers swear by it. I've gotten good results from it as long as the wort whirlpools around when I transfer it to the bottling bucket (and thus mixes the sugar in well). In place of corn sugar, I've also used candi syrup successfully for...

K. Newcomb: Had a batch of beer that just didn’t carbonate properly with priming sugar. Opened the bottles, dropped in these tablets and in 2 weeks the flat beer was fixed. Made it so easy, I just used these on the next batch instead of the priming sugar. I wish that they had half size tablets. Adding 1-1/2 tablets for a 16 oz bottle is a pain. More expensive to use than priming sugar but so simple and easy to use.
