D. Rader: The abrasive sticks out on both sides of the blade. The blades hold up well. On very narrow grout joints it would likely scratch the tile. I used it to remove a damaged floor tile and it worked beautifully.

ChuckW: You need a little elbow grease but that is what I expected when I bought this tool. Easy to control. Tried with my Dremel but it has hard to control from chipping the edges of the shower tile. This works better for my type of grout which is not to hard. It would not work on hard floor grout.
