TLTL:
This is the best waffle cone maker. I already have the mini cone one but this one will make full size cones. Super easy to use. The ones in the picture are on setting 4 for 1 minute 15 seconds. A couple of tips to make this easy -
1. It says to use about 3 Tblspns of batter. I would guess if you were using a thinner batter then that might be the case but I used a slightly thicker batter and found just over 1/4 cup worked best. If you look at the picture, there are 2 cones that show the difference between using 3 Tblspns and using over 1/4 cup.
2. I used the recipe in the booklet but almost doubled the sugar because I wanted these for ice cream. I found they needed to be sweeter.
3. You can use milk, more melted butter, or even more egg whites to thin if the batter is too thick but milk makes it a little softer in cone form.
4. The recipe booklet for regular waffle cones made 6 - 7. Since I did a couple of small ones, I would say 6 full size ones.
5. If you use a dishtowel to help you roll it, press down on the bottom tip of the cone to ensure no holes. Yes, you are flattening the very bottom but it is hardly noticeable and there will be no...

Lisa J: I bought this to make Gluten Free cones. It works wonderful. Pour on some batter, shut the lid and wait 2 minutes. Then remove waffle and roll. With the recipe I'm using I have to have the machine on very low so they don't burn. And it takes a little patience and practice to roll them.

Nikola: This is a really simple waffle iron, so not much to it: it works very well for its intended purpose. I wish the plates were removable for cleaning, but can't have everything. I received it yesterday, so no long-term use data; if it breaks, I'll post an update. The cone maker heats up evenly, and the waffles come out perfect once you find a good recipe. I tried all three recipes that come with the iron, and in my hands, the chocolate cone worked the best. The first recipe makes waffles that are a bit too thick and heavy to my taste. I would not recommend to use all-purpose flour, and instead use cake flour for all recipes. Since I didn't have cake flour on hand, I mixed 1/3 corn starch with 2/3 AP flour and it worked much better than 100% AP flour. I used the corn starch/AP flour mixture for the second recipe plus an additional tbsp of oil, and the waffles came out very light, thin, and crunchy. Ditto the chocolate recipe, and it was the best: not as thin and lacy as the second recipe, but thinner and more pliable than the first recipe. I am not a big fan of chocolate, so no chocolate bias here. It seems the key is not to overmix the batter and get the correct...

A. Weed:
I have used the Waffle Cone maker several times now and really like it. I've tried the recipes in the book and also made gluten free cones with great success. The waffle cone maker browns evenly and is easy to keep clean. The nonstick surface works perfectly.
The instructions also include recipes you can try. We tried them and also a few premade mixes. All of the recipes worked well in the waffle cone maker.
The latch on the front is a bit hard to latch and I worry about it breaking, but so far it has held up nicely and it latches very solid. My other issue with it being hard to latch is that my wife has a medical problem with her hands, so people with arthritis may want to check the use of this latch before using the cone maker to ensure it will be OK to use or if it will need to be returned. This latch is used to keep the lid down and spread out the batter across the heating surface, therefore it must be used or the cone thickness will not turn out properly.
The plastic cone form works well and is sturdy, but it does take a bit of practice to get used to it. This is not a manufacturing problem, but rather just a personal technique skill...

Kindle Customer:
I recently bought a really great ice cream machine and I happened to be browsing the internet and I saw this waffle cone maker. At first, I thought, "O.K., not another gadget!" but after reading several descriptions of the machine I decided to buy it. Thank God for going with my first mind!! This machine is incredible. After reading the brief instructions, I mixed up my batch of waffle cone mix (Chef's Choice) and set out on my adventure. Spraying a small amount of olive oil onto the heating pads (I always spray oil for the first time of each use) I poured my first coaster-sized amount of mix onto the machine; closed the lid and waited for the appropriate time to elapse. After opening the lid, out came this good smelling circular cone. Immediately, I lifted the cone using a rubber spatula; used the cone roller as indicated and Viola!! A great cone!! Not to mention the wonderful smell permeating my house!!
It took me two tries to get the right amount of mix to make the perfect cone. I had some of the mix slide out the sides of the machine...no problem, just wipe it off. When making your cone fold a small amount at the bottom before you begin...

cindy choi: The waffle cone maker is awesome but the recipe on the book is not.
Still need to work on the Recipe some but the maker itself is great
Only the first time preheat had a little bit of smell of plastic.
