Jack: Works fine. But the main beam comes in pieces that slide together, so when the door goes up or down the beam flexes a lot more than i expected. It has not failed yet but it sure flexes a lot. And to get it to go all the way down, it was hard to get it to stop in the right place without bending the beam up, which it does. i tried to adjust it so it stopped a little sooner but it never would end there. Overall it is ok, but if there is a heavier duty one, I wish i would have bought it instead. Easy to program the remote controls. Lights work great.

Amazon Customer: We bought a house where the old craftsman garage door system was broken.. So, ordered this one.. 5 stars arrived pretty quick. BUT..... Now, granted I put the system up myself and alittle help from my wife and our garage is finished off on the ceiling with stucco.. since we live in florida. Well, thought that it would be no problem.. take the other one down and just put this one up... Ya right.. FIRST THING... the rail travel system is really long on this system... 2ft or more from our last one up there.. So, first off.. the brackets they send with unit are highly cheap, flexible and can bend easy!! So, had to go to home depot for better thicker angle irons for it... So then put it up... the pins they give you for attaching to the front header plate is held on by a little thin wire less than your key chains for your car.. (so, make sure you have cotter pins). Then, in order to attach the sensors down by the doors..( be prepared again... you need to buy a 2x4 and cut it 8'' on both sides. Then, running of all the wires...be prepared if have stucco ceilings in your garage.. little nails they give you are junk!! there like little staples and hard to hammer in. I had to zip tie all...

Susan P.: I wanted to write a review right away concerning programming the new door opener with my car's homelink system with the buttons on my rear view mirror. I paid for Amazon's professional technician to install my new opener, but, unfortunately, he does not program to your car's universal remote. I really wanted this, so I used google to see where I would go to do this. They provided a link to Chamberlain's website where there is a prompt to type in the year, make and model of your car and then gives very easy instructions to program the new opener to your car's system. It was easier than I thought as I have never done this before. It is nice NOT to have the remote in the car and can just press the button on the rear view mirror to open the garage! I also like the outside key pad to open the garage door without a remote. I've never had that before and it is very handy. The opener is much quieter than the one it replaced, and seems wonderful so far. For the money, I'm very happy with it, and am actually happy that my old opener failed now that I have this one. The new ones have many great technological advances!

Norman L. Smith: I bought this to replace a Sears unit that finally failed after 30+ years. The new unit had a much shorter track(25 inches) so I hoped I could just swap out the motor drive and use the same old track and chain. The old track and chain was 124 inches.I just re-mounted the new motor. The instructions were clear and concise. I also used the old wiring for the remote box mounted inside. I was surprised to find that mounting the door sensors that deter door closure due to obstructions like objects or children was easy to install. They were also an unexpected addition to the unit, along with the outside, battery operated unit that remotely opens the door with a code programed by ones self !!. I love the technology !! I am 69 and retired and enjoyed the challenge of installing this myself, even though it took me about 3 hrs to figure it all out. This is a real bang for the buck !! It's quiet, quick and the double lights are awesome(I installed 2-LED instant-on 18watt-(60watt equivalent) bulbs. My garage is brighter and safer and up-to-date for the 21st century !! Now the wife wants one for her side too!

Karen Lemermeier: Wanted a simple opener to replace 21 yr old sears unit. This was pretty much the exact same unit size-wise and required little modification of original supports to install. Install was straight forward, I reused existing remote and sensor wires to shorten install time. Has been used daily for about 6 months, no issues, a bit quieter than old unit, door switch in the garage is a little bit flimsy compared to the brick that it replaced, but should last long with gentle use, if you have kids or teens you may want to get a spare. Outdoor unit is typical, think it even used the same screw locations as the old, the remotes for the cars seem to have a greater range than the old one by about 40 extra feet.
