SasquatchSasquatch: The instructions were clear and these were easy to install with a little patience. The sensors lights are big and bright. Upon installing, the green sensor was flashing, indicating that I needed to adjust the positioning with the wing nut screw, which was easy. It came with a spare wire connector. which was good because I absolutely crushed with first connection using my wire cutter crimper. That turned out to be overdoing the crimping. Instead, I used my lock nut pliers. While these are more expensive than the generic brands, I have confidence that they will last. I installed a name brand sensor on another garage door eight years ago and the sensor still works.

Anton: These new sensors replaced my old sensors. The new ones have excellent bright bid LEDs which are easier to see than the old ones. They're much smaller and the replacement was a breeze.

Pretty Things and Coffee: My Liftmaster garage door started to not go down. I got the flashing garage door light, and then when you tried to lower it again, it would start then just reverse and go right back up. Then the up/down arrows would flash/alternate, which is a code that the security/sensors at the bottom are blocked or faulty. After some basic attempts to adjust them myself, it would magically work for a short time, then fail again. Called a well known big garage door company in our area, who came out (not the originally installed, who is the other big company in our area the home builder used BTW) and person switched the sensors to the other side, lubed the door and adjusted the lift/operation. Charged us $189 and the door worked, for a very short time again, like 5-6 times and back to the same issue. The sensors would show one amber, and the green light on the other sensor would only work randomly or once/twice and then fail. So the fix didn't work. The door was smoother and much more quiet, but the repair/installer person also then wanted to charge us/get us to install/fix the bearings and springs which they claimed were worn out and needed replacing. MN Outdoorsman: I had new garage doors installed about 3-4 years ago and they functioned perfectly (including the safety sensors) from day one. Unfortunately, we recently starting having problems with the garage doors closing in the later afternoon (North facing driveway). It was pretty clear that the sun was shining directly into the safety sensors which caused the lift motor to reverse. This was a major problem as I have a few kids who are great on their iPhones but not so great when it comes to more "complicated" home problems (i.e. running a dishwasher, washing machine, lawn mower, and garage doors). It is really frustrating to be at work and have a kid call to say they can't get the garage doors to close. It is even more frustrating to try to explain how to solve the problem to the helpless teenagers.....Enough said. Time to solve the problem.

The included wire clips were helpful for attaching new sensors’ wires to the original wires from the old sensors.

This is a simple easy job that any homeowner can do themselves.

Maurice: Our garage door opener was acting up, yet everything checked out okay. No matter what I adjusted, including the photo-sensors, sometimes it would not close. After exhaustive testing, the only thing it could be was the photo-sensors, although their little yellow and green lights appeared to function. With nothing else it cold be, I bought these replacements. They arrived quickly and installed exactly as the old ones. The garage door now works properly every time! I can only conclude that the old sensors were on the verge of not working.

Okay, 3 or 4-stars should be average, which these are. But, because of the low price, I'm bumping them up to five.

Hot tip: if your garage door sensors are going bad, but not burnt out, you can't just remove them and go without. The garage door opener insists on these being connected or it won't work. Until the replacements arrived, I taped the two old ones touching and facing each other on a strip of wood, then placing them atop the opener, I wired them in. So, the door worked fine. For safety sake, I backed off on the sensor that controls the down force to the point where even a soft item would reverse the garage door on impact.
