DanB: Put my 2013 MacBook Air in Target Disk Mode connected to my 2014 Mac Mini. Did what I needed to do with no issues. Hard to find Thunderbolt 2 stuff at a decent price.

WimpyWomblyWambly: This probably isn't the one you want. I didn't care for the high price tag, flimsy construction and short life span. Reliability was a nightmare right out of the box. It started cutting in and out almost immediately - after several months it mechanically failed. It didn't make it through even 1 year of service - even though it really only made 1 connection during it's entire, brief lifespan. The extra long length was good but the durability was pretty much non-existent. While trying to figure out why it was working intermittently one day, I unplugged the cable from the Thunderbolt port and the crimped on connector just fell right off as I pulled it out - the weakest crimp job I've ever seen. This wasn't a cable that had undergone any kind of mechanical stress or trauma, it ran in a straight line and there was ample slack on each end - the cable itself was actually run out of reach of the user unless you intended to access it. Nothing had caused the end of it to fall off like that - it simply did because that's how it was built.

Detlef Schmidt: Ich wollte ein Extreme Pro 4 TB von SanDisc an den Thunderbolt-2-Anschluss des iMac anstecken. dazu brauchte den Adapter von USB c auf Thunderbolt 2 und ein Kabel mit zwei Thunderbolt-2 Steckern. Der Thunderbolt-2-Anschluss benötigt aber eine Stromversorgung, die die SSD nicht liefert. Deshalb habe ich den Adapter und das Kabel zurück gegeben. Ich bedanke mich bei Amazon für die Möglichkeit, den Kauf rückgängig zu machen. Viele Grüße Detlef Schmidt

R. Russell: While not built like an Apple product, it’ll get the data transfer job done between your computer and whatever device you hook up (an Apollo Twin in my case). So far no issues with the cable.

aloisi giuseppe: Utilizzato per collegarsi ad un vecchio iMac del 2011 tramite porta Thunderbolt 1. Cavo perfettamente funzionante come l'originale posso dire che nonostante essere un Thunderbolt 2 funziona normalmente su porta Thunderbolt 1. Confido nella durata.

Taylor: This works to connect my 2018 MacBook Pro to my Apple Thunderbolt display. I plug a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter into my computer and connect the adapter to this cable. Then plug the other end of this cable directly into the Thunderbolt 2 port on the back of the monitor.

The thunderbolt displays are notorious for having their built in cables stop working, this avoids that issue altogether while also allowing my MacBook to be farther away from the monitor, like under my desk. The cable build quality feels decent but with how expensive this cable is and how obsolete it's becoming, I'm going to avoid bending it too much or causing stress on the jacketing or ends.

Luigi: Habe dieses Thunderbold 2 auf Thunderbold 2 gekauft um mein alten iMac mit dem neuen macbook2019 zu verbinden (Bildschirm) und ich kann es jetzt nicht nutzen, da mein neues macbookPro nur USB-C bzw. Thunderbold 3 besitzt. Deshalb hatte ich mir einen Ansteck-Hub gekauft (mit USB-3/2 - HDMI und anderen Steckverbindungen) und dachte, da ist auch ein Thunderbold 2-Steckplatz mit dabei (sah so aus). Nun passt das aber nicht....
Aber dafür kann das Kabel von Kabel Matters ja nix... das ist wahrscheinlich gut und definitiv günstiger als das Apple-Original-Zubehör.
Jetzt muss ich mir wahrscheinlich zusätzlich einen Adapter USB-C auf ThB2 für 50 € kaufen...für diese läppische Verbindungssache 38 + 50 € ausgeben zu müssen ist eine Frechheit.

J'ai un iMac avec thunderbolt 2 que je voulais temporairement convertir en second écran pour mon macbook pro 2017 (thunderbolt 3 / USB C). J'ai l'adapteur USB C to thunderbolt 2.
En branchant ce cable, et en utilisant la combinaison de touche ALT + F2 (à presser sur l'iMac pas sur le macbook!!), je peux désormais utiliser l'iMac comme second moniteur, et ca fonctionne parfaitement (depuis bientôt 1 an maintenant) :-)
Le cable a un prix raisonnable et la taille qu'il faut pour ce genre de connectique.
