chunky: Used these to hold things still in the hire can when moving house. Great straps, heavy duty enough for a lot of jobs, and with the coated mechanism more comfortable to use. The storage bag is very handy too, I know my straps are all together now and I don't have to search.

JEFF ALLEY: I like the bright orange color and the ease with cranking it tight. The hook style also works better than the standard 'S" hook for my application. Only down side is I do find it is hard to pull the release lever to loosen the strap.

Frank: The item I purchased was Cartman 1,5" x 15' Padded Ratchet Tie Down 3000Lbs Capacity (4pk). It is nylon webbing 1.5 inches wide and 15 foot long. The nylon is 1.5 inches wide but it is not really thick. It is about 2x as thick as 1” tiedowns. What I wanted to use them for was to hold my side by side in place. What I did not like was the hooks are very short, so short i did not feel at all confident with my $13,000 side by side held in place with them. When I had arrived at my destination one of the straps had slipped and the hook fell off. I returned these and bought a pair with snap hooks so even if the tie down got a bit loose I would not loose my cargo. I Bought to replace it was this one (4 Pack) 2" Auto Haulers Ratchet Strap w/ Twisted Snap Hooks - 10 Feet - Orange

KentChewy: Excellent tie downs, at a great value. I like that these tie downs have 1.5-inch straps (adding more durability), and rubber-coated "double" steel J-hooks at each end. They seem to be much more rugged than the other skinnier S-hooks and 1" straps on other typical tie downs from big box stores. The 1000-lb working load capacity offered by these tie downs is way more than what I need for my application (to haul small bundles of lumber with my car), but it's nice to have a big safety margin. I also like the included cinch-pouch or bag, for storing the straps. The pouch should keep the tie down straps safe from damage (cuts or abrasion), since I'm storing it with other metal tools in the trunk of my car.

JP Folkes: I got these because I didn't want the smaller 1 inch tie downs and didn't need to go for the 2 inch straps. These seem a little smaller than I thought they were going to be, but the construction is good, the ratchets operate easily and it was a nice addition for them to include a bag with the tie downs. If you've ever gone through a box or big bag looking for some matching tie downs, you'll appreciate this.
These are sold a Padded Ratchet Tie Downs and for the life of me, I don't know what is padded on them. The straps are just like every other tie down I've used for years and the handles are small and made of plastic...so no idea what they are referring to here.
What's nice about the Cartman tie downs is that you can pick the length and the color for your set, so if you want one set for one vehicle and another for a different one...this is easy to do.
