Verified: VERY HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE OF THIS BOOK…LOVE THAT I CAN WRITE NOTES ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH RECIPE IF I CHOSE ALTERNATIVES TO THE ORIGINAL RECIPE. LOVELY ADDITION TO ANY KITCHEN COOKBOOKS. 👍👍👍👍👍

Sharon: What a special book! It's lovely to find such a variety of recipes. Being small batch recipes, it is easy to find a little sliver of time to fit into a busy schedule. This is a unique little niche (pun intended). I hope you are working on the next book. I'll be preserving and waiting in the meantime.

Sarah Bee: I'm a brand-new canner, though I've been investigating the process for years and just never felt brave enough to dive in. I started with the Ball Guide for the sake of understanding the rules, and then decided I wanted another book that would give me a bit more creative wiggle-room. This is the book!! I've owned it for only a few days and it's already dog-eared with notes written all over it. I've tried two of the recipes so far and both were absolutely delicious. The instructions are simple and straightforward, the photography is clear and beautiful, and the author makes you feel like she's right there in the kitchen with you, helping you out. The small-batch format is really helpful, too, since I'm only starting out.
This is the book!! Highly highly recommended.

Kindle Customer: These recipes are so incredibly different. The instructions are very well thought out and written. I want to make every one of them, and then sample them.

Rob L: I have made several of the recepies. All were easy to make. Book construction was poor, as the binding split after first use.

TaraTara: I ordered this book as soon as the pre-order became available. I'm going to be buying this for any future friends that want to learn the canning and fermenting arts because I'm often asked where to start...here's a great start! I've been following Minnesota From Scratch for a while. Stephanie Thurow comes off just as friendly and knowledgeable through social media as her words do in her cookbook. I absolutely love the way it's written. It's like she's speaking to you as a friend, like she's teaching you in the comfort of her kitchen, just like her aunt taught her! It's an easy read for sure. Her book is very well laid out. Every picture is so beautiful and was taken by the author herself of her own homemade, small batch goods. There are space for notes included with each recipe, as well as designated space for notes in other areas of the book. It was thoughtful to include this because, as is with cooking, you will find that sometimes recipes need to be tweaked to your liking. Whether that be the seasoning, the variety of produce you use, or the best place in town to find that produce, notes are always smart to keep so that you can duplicate that yummy recipe later, just the way...

Catherine: I was gifted this book and then bought one for my friend that was just starting to get into canning food from her garden. It makes it easy to follow with instructions and directions and pictures! It also give great ideas for recipes when you can't think of how you would want to preserve certain foods. Would recommend to anyone who cans or just is getting into canning!
