Camco Antifreeze Hand Pump Kit: Easily Pump Antifreeze into RV Waterlines and Supply Tanks

poppa bear: This pump worked exactly as expected. I was a little concerned when I saw the reviews complaining about the hoses not staying on, so I picked up some hose clamps in advance of winterizing my RV. They were not needed. It looks like there may be two version of this pump. I got the one with the white plastic fitting for the city water and had absolutely no problem.

I did the winterizing by myself, so I had to run back and forth between the pump and the faucets to see when the pink antifreeze started coming out. Because of this, I probably used my antifreeze than I needed to. But even so, I only used about 3 1/2 gallons. So, at $4 a gallon x 4 gallons that's $16. A LOT cheaper than the $110 the RV store wanted to winterize my trailer.

I highly recommend this pump!

Brando: I bought this to use in a pinch if my water pump ever died. This year, it died and this pump came readily to the rescue. The only drawback was that under pressure, the hoses would pop off. I recommend using hose clamps so this doesn't occur. I wish this product was designed a little better with hose clamps in mind. Hose clamps.

Amazon Customer: The water pump motor in my RV decided to malfunction and there was no time to install a new pump....so what to do to install anti freeze for winter. ? Well I found this hand pump and decided to give it a try... One of the best purchases in a long time. Blew the waterlines out with compressed air and with the hand-pump injected the anti-freeze into the city water inlet and kept pumping till all faucets etc. were flowing pink. It saved the day for me being 200 miles from nearest RV store. Highly recommended for the intended job with a side benefit of aerobic exercise LOL.

Stephen: What i liked - easy to use out of the package-simple construction so less likely that something will not work-no need to search for the right connections to hook up to the city water supply connection.

What I didn't like - all plastic parts, may not last more than a few years - the hoses seem a bit cheap and probably prone to cracking over time - the hoses are too short, you need to have something handy to set your antifreeze jug on, because the hose won't reach the jug on the ground.

Bill: I liked everything about it except the hoses kept falling off. I recommend clamps be added to the connection points, especially both ends of the hose that goes between the pump and the trailer connection. I have already added clamps to the pump that I received and they work fine in keeping the hoses attached. Of course you have to loosen them as necessary to break down the pump, but that is far less inconvenient than the hose falling off and anti-freeze going all over the place.
Also, and this is a pretty big deal. You should add in the directions to by-pass the hot water heater. If you don't know to do this before pumping in the anti-freeze, you will put anti-freeze into the hot water heater, which will take about 12 years to flush out. Still, a good pump and enables putting anti-freeze into the water system direct rather than being sucked in through the fresh water pump. Also enable putting some anti-freeze into the black water intake line and take without having to use a funnel.
