Brett: Bushnell quality for no name prices. I have 2, and will likely have more as needed. Battery life sucks but the batteries are sold at the dollar store, so it's not like you are custom ordering some obscure battery for like $30.

boondock51: In the wake of the so-called handgun ammo shortage and the current high prices, I pulled out my two .22 pistols and started using them exclusively to maintain my shooting enjoyment. I have always enjoyed shooting my Ruger Mark IV 25\45 and Smith and Wesson 22A-1 using iron sights. However, at 71 years old, my eyesight is obviously not what it used to be so I started looking at some of the handgun red dot sights on the market. After researching and educating myself about red dot sight technology, I made up my mind that I was not going to invest a lot of money for my 22 pistols just to shoot at targets and for plinking. I’m not into the competition stuff so I ordered a Burris TRS-25 from Amazon to try on my Ruger Mark IV. After mounting it and sighting it in, I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance. For less than $70.00, this little sight totally fills the bill for me, both price and performance wise. Again, it should totally satisfy my needs for target shooting and plinking. hb jenkins: So many reviewers don't realize the front lens is supposed to be slanted; and guess what, me too, but google is kind and proved that is normal. Looks like I got a new version with the silver letters that don't have the little r logo. I was alarmed to say the least given all the negative reviews about fake products. But having checked Bushnell's site, they have this version on there so not gonna worry much more. Everything checks out for me, and to be honest didn't at first.

Definitely they are cutting costs in various ways to keep this price point, but comparing this to a 2013 (gold letter) model I got new (and just returned), it looks like my silver letter modern version is better quality than that, with some minor not so important differences in details.

I don't care if it has an etched dot vs a printed one for the setting indicator. I'm not worried if it doesn't have the two holes on the front lens cap

Twindadx2: I just received the red dot today and have not used it yet. I wanted to say that it is smaller then I thought. Feels solid and has positive clicks from 0-11. The bikini covers do what they are suppose to do but would be nice if they had flip up covers. I can see it getting lost or broke while out hunting. The one I received has the white lettering and the laser is at 4 o'clock. The picture shows the gold lettering. The lot # on the box is 01-16 so I guess it is a 2016 manufacture. The big thing I noticed was that the dot was not round! I thought I had a defective product. It was more of a line, or some describe as a starburst. When I googled it this seems to happen with people who have Astigmatism in their eyes which I do. So I put my prescription sunglasses on and looked through the red dot and it was crisp and round. Sucks getting old!
Looking forward to getting it setup and sighted in.
UPDATE: Mounted it to a picatinny top rail on a new mossberg 20g Super Bantam for the kids. After several boxes of slugs and bird shot down range it has held solid. This is our first red dot. I have hunted for 25 + years mainly with cross hairs. With no magnification it takes some getting...

No Fortunate Son: I'm the kind of reviewer that gives a product a positive review if I can get it to do what its supposed to do.I currently use a Primary Arms Aimpoint M2 copy, and the Eotech 512. This sight, in my humble opinion, is the best of the 3 for competition, training, or plinking. For serious work or Direct Action, I do NOT believe it would hold up to abuse. Now the highlights:

Pros:
Super easy to mount, zero and use.
Sight picture and glass is clear. Emitter is visible in lower right corner of glass, but doesn't interfere or distract with sight picture.
Brightness settings and visibility are superior. The adjustments are hard to turn, which I like. Good, positive clicks. I used it in bright daylight on setting 7 and it was easy to see and has 4 more clicks.
Similar in style and dimension to the Aimpoint T1, which is ridiculously priced at over $600.00.
This would be ideal for 3 gun or adaptive carbine classes, either as a primary sight, or offset with a scope. Its even small enough to mount on top of a scope.
Comes with tethered rubber lens covers, and O-rings underneath all covers.
Cons:
The return to zero if removed was non existent. I zeroed it, took it...
