Broil King PCG-10: Professional-Grade Portable Nonstick Griddle

Ian R: I was looking for a good, heavy griddle. This gridle works well. My one complaint is that it is advertised as being made of stainless steel. This is one of the reasons I bought it, and would definitely justify the price. However, it is in fact made of aluminum. The only SS parts are the backsplash and the handles.

Allison M: We researched a tonne of griddles. This one is pricey but so worth it. If you let it heat properly the heat distributes thoroughly and no hot spots. Cooks 8 small pancakes or 6 larger ones evenly! Easy clean up, I just wipe surface with warm soapy cloth. Love this griddle and wish we bought sooner.

Donna - B.C. Canada: We have purchased this griddle for ourselves and now for both of our grown children. My own is about 5 years old and gets used regularly and is as good as the day it was purchased. Our daughter has been using hers for a year and a half and loves it. The cost is higher than a lot of griddles but the quality is superior and the griddle heats evenly and consistently unlike previous griddles we have owned. Very easy to clean. Highly recommend this griddle.

artco: The surface of the griddle was rough and pitted and I was concerned that food residue would become lodged and the griddle would be difficult to clean. This is one of the more expensive griddles available on Amazon. It is made in the USA and I would have expected better quality control.

An Engineer: I recently purchased this item to replace a very old https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-735-GRILL-HERITAGE-SILVERSTN/dp/B00029OQ7W that is still in great working condition today. I wanted a larger rectangular griddle to replace our current one. When the Broil King griddle arrived arrived I was shocked to see such a poor quality piece of equipment. I don't write reviews, but with this item, I feel compelled to save other people the same mistake. They wasted my time, and I'll burn some time here so that you don't have to waste yours. My apologies for not including photographs, but I've already packaged up the Broil King for return.

I had purchased this under the assumption that the America's Test Kitchen review was reliable--I was wrong. Better quality products are available for less than half the price. The Presto brand in a similar size is one that comes to mind (I have taken a close look at it in a brick-and-mortar store). Clearly this item never went through quality control of any legitimate sort. After receiving it, I went so far as to call Broil King to ask if this was typical. C. G. King: Don't you love it when things do what they're supposed to? This griddle is a good example; here's why I like it and things to consider. First of all, if you don't need the backsplash (which is included--packed separately--the model PCG-5 is identical, but without it, and cheaper. Had I known that I'd have opted for that one as I won't be using it. The included booklet points that out but I didn't get it from the descriptions as I looked at various griddle choices. If you're going to be cooking splattery things, of course, you'll want it to protect your wall somewhat.

I had a list of requirements for a griddle. I have a ceramic top range so can't use a double burner iron griddle. I wanted a griddle that would accommodate a decent amount, be lightweight enough for me to manage easily, easy to store up on end in the pantry and most of all, of course, be reliable and consistent with temperature control as well as non-stick and easy to clean. I also had to have one that would work with the cord coming from the left hand side because that's where my plug is.

This unit meets all those requirements. The back leg adjustment for tilt is not so high...
