Broan-NuTone 85315000 Ventilation Fan Grille Lens and Assembly Kit

Glowing In the Dark: I bought this fan grille to replace an older model 663 LN. It does work as a replacement, but the fit-up and the appearance when the light is on is not good. 1.) The grille is held in by the older model's reflector plate. The reflector plate installation nut bottom's out against the fan unit without tightening the new grille plate against the ceiling. It left a quarter inch gap between the ceiling and the grille plate. I added spacers between the grille plate and reflector to resolve this . 2.) The reflector plate from the 663 LN model (10.25") is smaller than than the new lens cover (12") and only lights up that portion of it . Disappointed.

S: There are no led upgrade versions for the older models (way too large). Trying to get this from the manufacturer requires buying separate light cover and ends up way too expensive. This is affordable, looks great and will refresh without having to replace the guts.

David_Jr: My 20 year old bathroom fan got really yellowed and awful looking. I looked at new fans but didn't want to spend the money. I thought it would be worth taking a look to see if I could just replace the yellowed lens. I did a search and Amazon had it and the price was right. Received it and it is a perfect match for the original except not yellowed. Seems just as sturdy as the original. Hope it lasts another 20 years! Money well spent.

S & E: We had a 25 year old unit in which we had trouble finding a new cover, happen to see this one and crossed our fingers it would fit, and it fit perfectly. We were shocked it did. One thing they should do, is give us all dimensions, that would be very helpful

Average Consumer: Instant update/improvement from yellowed plastic grates and yellowed/burned lens to nice bright white fixture and lens. The size wasn't exactly the same as the old, but fit NuTone Model 663LND "B" Unit from the 90's. The inner light bulb fixture/aluminum frame had to be forced in slightly for it to fit, but it screwed onto main unit with the pre-existing wing nut. There was a slight rattle when fan was running, but went away after some repositioning. It used to take a 100 Watt bulb in old fixture and lighting was still poor. But with the new Broan-NTone 85315000 Ventilation Fan Grille & Lens a 60 Watt LED style light provides more than enough light for the bathroom where this is installed. Less heat with the LED light should also hopefully help this replacement lens avoid the burn marks that occurred in the previous lens from years of heat.
