Britsou 50 Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier for up to 3500 Sq. Ft.

Motherof3: Bought for unfinished 1500 sq ft basement. Shows humidity between 30 and 50%. Filled the tub once a day for 2 days then we hooked it up with the drain hose.
Was delivered to post office instead of home but arrived with no damage.

Amazon Customer: When we first setup it was pretty quiet. 3 months later it seems a touch noisier but still much quieter than the last dehumidifier we had. We use in our basement which is roughly 1,300 square feet and if it runs for 6 hours straight then reservoir needs to be emptied. That part is smaller than our last unit but it's easy to empty. We use the timer function when we go out or go to bed and it's simple. 50 to 55 % is our range and if unit is off for 3 or 4 hours then humidity jumps to 68 or 70%. Easy to roll around from room to room if needed.

Celia J. Ross: This dehumidifier works great. It is a little bit noisy when you first start it, but once it warms up, you don't hear it. I live in an rv, so humidity is an issue, and this dehumidifier removes the condensation on the windows quickly. This makes me happy.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because they skimped on the length of the cord. Another 2ft and it would be perfect. I do not use extension cords except for one surge protector for my computer.

Chuck: The smallest 50pt I've owned . Very quiet. I hear only the fan running when it needs to and a very slight compressor start up for
few seconds but definitely quieter than many on the market. Simple to operate but read the manual first. Power button and front display continually flash when it reaches set humidity level which I found weird at first. I would have expected flashing when it was working to drop humidity. Its humidity sensor appears to be accurate comparing to my 3 hygrometers in the room. It's a guitar music room so proper humidity is crucial as is temperature. I just got it so how long it will last is unknown . Very fast at dropping humidity in a 10ft x 15ft room in my basement . Usually most sensors have to climatize to the area to become accurate but this has been accurate from the first time it ran. It might cover 3500 sq/ft but I have my doubts due to its size.It would depend on where the area is . Damp basements hmmm maybe. I can't fault it except the bucket is real small but I knew that before buying. If you don't have a floor drain probably could use the drain hose into a larger bucket or pail if looks aren't important. lol I might even buy another one after...

Susanne Lang: I recently moved and have sensors all over the rooms. I never had issues with humidity before, at least not knowingly and definitely not in my last place which was just 10 min car drive away. When I noticed humidity levels rising to 60% and above, I got concerned and looked into buying a dehumidifier. I had bought a 600 sqft dehumidifier first but was not satisfied with the results. Granted my place is larger but I would have expected that it should work in a closed bedroom at least. I was not happy with the results and decided I needed a larger instrument. I decided for this 30 pint version. I just plugged it in and hit the power button, it's very straight forward to use. I was amazed about the results, With every hour I could see the results. After a couple of hours running time, I found 1-1.5L water in the tank. The smaller dehumidifier never had more than 1 inch water in the tank when running the same amount of time. The efficiency of this Britsou dehumidifer is amazing in comparison. I probably could get by with a single instrument and move it around my place as needed for every few hours. Amazon Customer: J'habite un demi-sous-sol et je suis très satisfaite du rendement de ce déshumidificateur. Avant de l'acheter, le taux d'humidité était de 70% et plus dans mon appartement. Après les premiers quatre heures de fonctionnement, le taux d'humidité avait baissé à 55%. À ce niveau d'humidité, le bac de récupération de l'eau se remplit complètement en plus ou moins 5 à 6h. Quand le taux d'humidité est plus bas (autour de 45%), il se remplit en 8 à 9h.

Présentement, il fait très humide à l'extérieur et le déshumidificateur réussit quand même à conserver mon appartement autour de 45-50% d'humidité et à restabiliser le niveau d'humidité quand j'ouvre la porte ou que je fais sécher des vêtements à l'air libre.

Je n'ai pas utilisé tous les modes de l'appareil. Pour l'instant, j'ai seulement utilisé le mode en continu, avec un arrêt automatique à un certain niveau d'humidité, et ça fonctionne à merveille!

Mon seul bémol concerne le bruit. Si je me souviens bien de la description du produit, l'appareil ne devrait pas être plus bruyant qu'un réfrigérateur... en tout cas, le niveau de bruit devait quand même être suffisamment...

Cookiepark: I never write reviews until I've used it for awhile. Well it got a really good workout these past 3 weeks. We were in the devastating flood that hit parts of Vermont. After 16" of water in our stone basement, this dehumidifier dried things out beautifully! It is so quiet and energy efficient I was amazed. After having a different brand that ran constantly and really raised my electric bill, I was so glad this really did the trick. Thank you

Careful Shopper: Recent storms caused flooding, and some water entered my home. I was looking for a dehumidifier to dry out the house to prevent mold and mildew. After doing some research online, I decided on this model. It arrived the next day. I took it out of the box and plugged it in. It immediately began drawing water out of the air. I could tell because the drip tray began to fill. After several hours I noticed that it had stopped running. When I checked, the drip tray was full. I poured almost a gallon of water out and it immediately began running again. I had to empty the tray several times a day. I then decided to put the dehumidifier on the counter connect the hose and let it drain directly into the sink. It’s been running ever since. After about a week, I decided to turn the fan down to low. It seems to work just as well, and it’s even quieter. It is much more comfortable now, and I decided to keep running it even though the house is now dry. Overall it does what it says, t’s quiet and compact.

Tom: I originally bought a dehumidifier with an internal pump but it burned out after 6 months. I love this dehumidifier, it’s quiet and big enough for the living room, where it has worked perfectly. The great feature is the wheel which is I can push everywhere in the house. It comes with a timer and speed. The humidity sensor is pretty accurate because I compared it several times with the humidity that I read from Nest Thermostat App. It works perfectly with the pump, and the water gets pumped through the tube and out the window. Additionally, it’s attractive, quiet, and compact. ​We have humidifiers in every single room but This one is great for the living room.

You won’t regret purchasing this product. It’s an awesome machine that REALLY works, I am really pleased with this product and highly recommend it.
