Family: We bought this based on a combination of features, water capacity and good reviews. We have been very pleased with its performance and it does exactly what it advertised. We are able to keep the humidity quite low in our FL home, even in the high humidity season. The unit is quiet and easy to operate. Five stars!

Ken K.: Purchased this Kesnos dehumidifier to help reduce humidity in our basement. The unit was very easy to set up and the controls are clear and easy to use. Once set up and running it worked flawlessly and was quiet enough that it disappeared into the background. Ran continuously for 2 1/2 years without any issues. It recently started showing an error code and stopped running. I contacted Kesnos Support and they got back to me promptly, providing very clear and easy-to-understand instructions on how to diagnose the problem. Once the problem was identified they sent me the required part and detailed instructions on how to replace it. This is some of the best product support I have worked with in many years. It is nice to find a company that takes customer support so seriously and is prompt in responding to inquiries. All in all a well-built product with outstanding customer service and support.

Carl: This was the first dehumidifier I bought for my apartment, specifically for the bedroom because of how humid it got even with air conditioning. I LOVED this dehumidifier and I would have kept it if it didn’t stop working.

For about 20 days, it worked fantastically. The humidity reading was accurate and would turn on and off according to the humidity in the room. No apps or fancy things needed, just simple dehumidifying. The tank was large enough for my bedroom and needed to be emptied at most twice a day, depending on the humidity outside.

But then it just stopped reading the humidity accurately. While my HomePod would say 65%, the dehumidifier would say 32%. Big difference. I had to then run the dehumidifier on high all the time for it to do its job. It just wasn’t efficient anymore.

Really sad that I had to return this one. It was a compact and sleek powerhouse.

EDIT: Kesnos contacted me about my issues and they were very understanding and took the feedback well. Good customer support and they seem to care about their customers’ feedback.

Jason Brown: The media could not be loaded.  My finished basement is maybe 1200sqft.....I assumed this unit was over sized for my needs. After a week of use the unit cannot get the humidity level below 47% ......its set for 40%? I had a different manufacturer model for several years which gave up the ghost so i needed a new unit. It worked very well. After a year it sounds like a tank....very noisy.

Minky: It is easy to set up, set, and use. Access to the water can is easy. It really works and makes the air in the house as dry as you set it to be.

It removes not only humidity but also the odor of the air. One time, I burned a pot of food on the stove. The odor was very strong and I attempted normal things, like ventilation, candle, and Febreze. None of those could give my family satisfaction. But I turned the dehumidifier on setting the target humidity so low that it may constantly run. After a couple of days, I smelled nothing as I was coming into the house after work. That was great and I was really thankful.

It makes running noise and heat. They are inevitable for a dehumidifier because it has to forcibly move air through the machine and compress the air to remove the moisture which emits heat (it is basically like a refrigerator or an air conditioner). This one was the best in terms of noise and heat. Some brand name products of this capacity (4500 sq ft) will sound like a jumbo plane and the heat will consume a lot of your cool air from the air conditioner. For these factors, I am very satisfied with this product.

Derek SchanzDerek Schanz: This dehumidifier is very small in design compared to other units and not nearly as heavy. I initially purchased one of these units to replace my Frigidaire that stopped working after one year. The Kesnos unit is extremely quiet (with dual fan speed variation), so much so that using the lowest fan setting, we can happily watch movies in our downstairs rec-room without it bothering us during quieter movie scenes. The touch screen controls are nice on the top part of the unit and overall it's very easy to maneuver. I liked the unit so much I bought a second one for my mother to replace her aging dehumidifier. I would happily purchase from this company again - it's well worth the money! You can't go wrong with this unit.

The only suggestion I would have is you purchase your own drainage hose as the one that comes with the unit is somewhat short, but I'll take that shortcoming over units from other brand name vendors that don't last.

**Update 6/16/21** Unfortunately, I'm taking this review from 5 stars to 1 - the unit failed in just over a year from date of purchase. I have since emailed Kesnos as their website claims to increase your 1-year warranty to a 2-year...
