bkemmaus: Used it for the first-time last night and got perfect waffles. Would recommend buying one of these. Yes it is a little expensive but worth it. I had a black decker that made terrible waffles. I'm very satisfied with my Breville waffle maker and my Breville toaster.

Gregg Clifton: Best one I ever had, makes perfect waffles and fast too.

Stephanie: We experimented with the browning levels and found our favourite, and this waffle iron is the best we’ve ever used by a mile. Heats up and cooks quickly and evenly, and the spill over rim is really useful. Have had no issues with sticking, and though the plates are not removable, it is easy to clean. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re into waffles, it’s worth it.

JPPersch: Makes a good waffle but it is not to the depth of the Breville two waffle maker. Also, the temperature control does not work, no matter where from 1-6 you set it, the result is the same.

Jason Gargo: This is a very nice waffle maker, but this is only based on short term usage (Used it four times so maybe 20 full size waffles)

Makes a good evenly browned waffle - crispness on the outside (depending on the setting) and soft on the inside. The moat is a useful feature; however, you should still aim for minimizing overflow. Once you use it, this will be easy to estimate. If it significantly overflows into the moat, it will not make a mess, but you will notice that the top will brown more.

The waffles detach easily - there is a lot of surface contact so don't expect to just rip them off, they will likely tear. Just pry gently with a suitable tool, and you will not have any issues.

The initial odor from the non-stick surface seems less than with others I have tried, though it is still there.

I have found I use the maximum browning setting, but I am also using a gluten free mix. Not sure if the gf makes a difference; may just be that I prefer a crispier waffle.

Breville is kind of like the Ferrari of kitchen appliances; they are stylish and perform well.

The styling is a bit different. At first it looks a bit unbalanced because of the large...

Chris: Bought this for Christmas. Was on sale so just wait for it go on sale, don’t pay full price. It’s easy to clean and the waffle thickness is amazing. It’s smaller than I expected but not a bad thing can fit easily in your pantry. Has a locking lid which keeps it from opening in storage. Can adjust for the darkness level and an option for the waffle to cook just a bit longer if desired. Only compliant is that the plates aren’t removable. But haven’t had any issues with batter sticking. Might be an issue later on, years from now as the old one starting to have this issue. Which is why had to be replaced. I assume as the Teflon wears off. Overall worth it. Breville small appliances are amazing.

VirtualMirage: So far, I am really happy with this waffle maker. We replaced an old rectangle type waffle maker that had no custom settings, no audible alarm, and was being held together by tape. This one is a huge step up from that. I chose the Breville because I have used their products before and have been happy with the quality of them, I wanted a round non-Belgian style waffle maker that allowed me to fine tune the darkness of the waffle, and I wanted something that had an audible alert.

Waffles cook evenly, which is very important. Cleanup is a breeze too, which is also very important since this isn't something you can just wash in a sink or dishwasher. The little moat around the edge works exactly as advertised, catching any overflow and cooking it to make for easy cleanup. The latch on the lid to lock it when storing is extremely helpful since you often have to grab it by the handle to get it in and out of the cabinet. The audible alert is easy to hear. When storing the waffle maker, the waffle maker has a place underneath to wrap the cord to keep it out of the way.

The build quality of this waffle maker meets my expectations in every way except for one minor defect on our...

Carnivale4ever: We haven't owned a waffle maker before so did some research before buying... discovered that there is a difference between Belgian waffles and regular waffles . This machine does regular waffles which means no yeast and/or beating eggs to make puffy (Belgian) waffles. The regular waffles were just delicious.

We LOVE the little drip tray (moat) that runs around the outside of the cook surface... no messy batter dribbling down the outside of the machine. Used the batter recipe in the owner's manual and it made 8 LARGE waffles... far more than 3 people could eat at one sitting. Will be cutting the recipe in half next time.

Figure this will be a highlight of future breakfast/brunches when we invite the gang for a midday meal during the winter time instead of dinner.

Wish we had bought one of these years ago... nice break from serving pancakes... and very easy to operate... a little bell tells you when the griddle is ready, and also tells you when the waffles are done..

Debbie Schopp: I previously had a Waring waffle iron but the Teflon peeled off so I had to throw it out. Waring was bought out by Cuisinart and their customer service sucks! So I wouldn't purchase a third one. I did have a second one by Waring, however, they cheaped out didn't put a beeping mechanism on the second generation model PLUS, the waffle weren't cooking through and were no longer "crisp". I don't use pancake batter in my waffles, I make the batter from scratch. So I tried this one according to the reviews and it was better than the Cuisinart. Yes, more expensive but worth it. It is hot, which is absolutely a must and cooked through. The only suggestion I would have to this company, is to make the squares on the template much larger, like the Cuisinart one. The waffles aren't thick enough but it does the trick and I would recommend this unit. Thanks Breville !
