After a week I noticed quite a difference in how I breathe, especially when I’m cycling. I gave it 3 stars because the mouth piece is made of hard plastic and it hurts my mouth when trying to blow into it. You get 2 different shapes and both didn’t feel comfortable. I stopped using it after a couple weeks because the hard plastic aggravated my mouth after a while. The idea behind it is great though!

D. Friend: I am a p. T. And I tried this out. It comes with an app that makes it easy. I teach patients with it and have seen the results. It makes a difference when you use it regularly. It strengthens both inhalations and exhalations. It’s pretty inexpensive for the benefits you can get. I call it weight lifting for your lungs. I used this unit and the blue one for my patients with ling conditions. Simple concept brilliantly executed. Highly recommend for diaphr strengthening.

Lisa Conrad: Pre Covid I was on fire racing different trail runs. Post Covid I’ve never really gotten back my ideal respiratory running style. I’ve been using this device for a week and a half. Started at 1 and now at level 3. 3 sets in the am 3 sets in the pm. I will tell you that I am already noticing a distinct difference in my breathing wow trail running at higher paces. Undoubtably I am breathing better, and I believe my VO2 max is heightened distinctly. I clean it every night and a little dawn, dish liquid and hot water and leave it out to dry to use again in the morning religiously. I don’t believe I will ever stop. A++ rating.

JJ: I'm a speech language pathologist who has used expiratory muscle strength training with some of my patients with swallowing disorders. When I heard about the Breather Fit during a continuing education unit (the presenter wasn't affiliated with the company and discusssed a variety of products from various manufacturers), I was curious and decided to check it out since I am also a recreational runner.
The breather fit is both an IMST (inspiratory muscle strength) and an EMST (expiratory muscle strength) devuce. I found that the research on respiratory muscle strength training for athletes primarily focuses on inspiratory muscle strength and has generally found modest improvements in various areas including performance, although the research is far less compelling than the use of EMST in swallowing.
I was still curious, so I purchased a Breather Fit, and I've been following the protocol for 2 weeks, since March 10th.
Above, I have attached my Garmin watch's estimate of my VO2 max. Watches are not particularly good at calculating a precise VO2 max, so take the above with a grain of salt. You will see that coming off a long winter of dealing with snow, ice, and an...

SDM: The pros...
- Does the job its designed to and is very simple to use
- Gives a lot of resistance
- Looks aesthetically good (although very plasticky)
The cons...
- No instructions included: a clear attempt to bounce you to an app! I'm not sure why you would use which mouthpiece
- VERY overpriced for what it is. A lot of these fitness gadgets are though
- No case or bag or anyway to store it and keep it clean: for the price this should be included

jama: To be clear, this is an excellent product. I have the basic model, which I have worked up to the maximum settings over the space of a couple of months, and benefited greatly.
So I bought this upgrade of the breather fit model, expecting to get a much harder work out, to develop my breathing further. However, I can't tell the difference between the breather fit on maximum settings and my previous basic level breather. I'm very disappointed, and a bit puzzled. I wish it meant that I was incredibly fit, but I'm not.
On the other hand and if you're in your 50s like me, haven't been doing exercise for a while, but want to to increase your breathing capacity, but don't know whether to get the entry-level or the fit level, then I certainly wish I had started with the fit level because, as I say, I can't tell any difference between them. And that's why I'm giving it 3 stars, because it's a great product, but it's not worth buying two of them!!

Lindsay R. Bayne: I felt that I had outgrown the [basic, dare I call it?] Breather, finding probably some benefit of course, but I had the settings on maximum for several weeks, increased reps and sessions - so time to look for something more. The B.Fit is the next logical step, as I'm a SCUBA diver [experienced now], seeking to enhance my dives with better breathing control and ability: so, this is my 2nd day, and feel comfortable on setting 2, used for the first time this morning: no puffing of the cheeks, in control, building from a conservative 10 reps: this device is great, giving me a range to work through far better than the Breather, so an indication that I am in none too bad shape, but also work to do.
This is an easy-to-use bit of kit, simple controls, light-weight and not difficult to maintain - the website again is straightforward, with a series of instructional videos that take you through the how-to + give some background [not fully explored as yet, but very promising]. An added bonus I feel, right now with our not-so-friendly virus around is the development and maintenance of good respiratory practice, an awareness of your own breathing 'norm' and increased resilience generally -...

Robert C. Marson: The breather is pretty self explanatory. You use it to increase and strengthen lung capacity. I bought it for slight apnea and sleeping deeper so that is still pending.
The app was not intuitive at all. I wanted a way to track my use of the device and could not find anything like that except in downloads, but could find no way to download what was in there. I could not figure out what “quality of life” was in the app, nothing at all. It was not helpful even a little. I deleted it two days later out of complete frustration with the entire thing. I just wanted a simple way to keep track and that was just not part of the app. And the videos seemed completely unrelated to the device. It was a mess in my opinion. I even went to help which was not helpful.
Not happy at all with their offering. And all of that just frustrated me in using the product. It’s in a drawer now. I breathe fine.
