Doe: Bas Ruten sold me this when I heard him talk about fighters getting huge boost from it. I've been doing it 5 to 7 days a week for months now while training for a marathon. One thing that bothered me about it was Bas said just 4 minutes a day but I wasn't sure if that meant 2 minutes of exercise one and 2 minutes of exercise 2 or 4 of each so I varied a bout doing it from 4-8 minutes a day.
I already was pretty good at diaphragm breathing so I can't really say for certain if I got any performance increase from it. But I do think focused breath work is good for everyone to do. I did notice a few times on my long runs my lungs felt tired and it was hard to take a deep breath from using this the night before. So I stopped using it 48 hours before a long run or threshold run.
I started out with the #6 covered and moved to #5 after 8 weeks. I have no idea why it comes with 15 covers when it says most people start at #5. I also found I had to keep a towel between my legs when I did it because drool started dripping out after a few minutes.
In short this will give you a small increase in performance and might help you learn to use your diaphragm but Bas definitely over sold it...

B. Camp: Easy to use and only 4 minutes a day makes it easy. My dog doesn't like me using it because maybe there's a high pitched sound when sucking in air through a tiny hole. I use it for training for endurance and I like how it makes you think about how to breath. I'm sure there are cheaper versions or you can just breath through one nostril if you choose. I doubt I'll ever get down to the smallest hole option but it's nice to have adjustability. Ill update after a few months, or not..

Ross: Initial review:
If I saw this in the shops I would guess it would cost £10. Looks and feels extremely cheap. Even the box and packaging was cheap. There was some dirt marks on the wheel things too
Used it once, will update later:
Initial impression: I did the breath work for 30 reps on the number 3 wheel and it was way too easy. I'm in reasonable shape so maybe someone with lung conditions might find it more challenging
Anyway so far I'm underwhelmed
EDIT:
Not fun to use at all. Low incentive to carry on using. Seeing no benefits. So far complete waste of money
Will update again if I change my mind, if not then safe to say gave up on the product after few weeks

Evan Owen: For any athlete, it is bad to have shallow and dysfunctional breathing in your chest. I compete in Jiu Jitsu and I hate the feeling of being in a hard match and my chest just starts to feel heavy like my lungs cannot possibly get enough air. For any athlete, powerful lungs are important. The first thing I started to notice with this product is that I actually had to re-teach myself how to breathe, then I noticed my lower back, upper back, core, neck, hips and even shoulders are all tight and are restricting proper breathing. When I use this product I not only feel all of the muscles associated with breathing being worked but my lungs are also pushed to their limits with capacity and all of my tight muscles that restrict my breathing are getting stretched out and becoming loose. Now there are muscles all over my belly that are going through hypertrophy, they seem to be muscles that I have not worked to such a far extent before. My recovery time in Jiu Jitsu training is faster, I can go harder, I can push the pace and go beyond what I was capable of before and on top of that I can feel myself breathing differently to the point where I even feel some of those tight muscles on my...

PickyButFair: I wrote a mediocre review because although this product seemed good for what it was, I thought I preferred the type of inhalation trainer that looked a lot like a vape so I could just use it whenever I wanted in public.
Then I got stronger and stronger at inhaling and discovered that at higher resistance, the vape type is hard to hold in your mouth. At that point you need the snorkel bite down type. That's why - I get it now - this device goes in your mouth like a snorkel and has a seal and a bite-down element.
And what's actually great about this - I get it now - is that it is made of a slightly flexible material so there is a little give to it. That makes the experience of using it more satisfying.
I figured out a trick when I get to the highest setting - I'm actually almost there now - and that's to put some tape over the hole and make a smaller hole with a sharp object, or multiple holes if the first one isn't enough.
I had covid, and I couldn't inhale hardly at all for around a week, and then it got really bad and I had to go to the hospital. I wasn't congested at all, not that I knew, but my ability to breathe was compromised by over 95%, and then...

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: I am almost 40 and for my whole life I have felt like my cardio system was the weakest link in my body. I am fine with low rep heavy lifting but whenever it came to running or boxing I felt like I would always be out of breath within a few minutes. Doing more cardio helps of course but I could not help shake the feeling that there was something wrong with me, that for all the effort I put into the cardio I should be performing better than I was.
I heard about this thing on Bas' Youtube channel and I did some reading around. I was skeptical. It seemed to me like you could just get the exact same effect breathing through a straw. But I love Bas' personality and have laughed many times at his crazy Youtube videos so I figured I would trust him and give this thing a try.
So basically this thing restricts airflow when you are breathing in, and there is a valve that allows you to breathe out as quickly as you want. So you are only stressing the inspiratory muscles used for breathing in. And because your outward breath happens so quickly, effectively you are straining your inspiratory muscles 90% of the time that you are breathing. The load becomes almost...

Chris: This O2 trainer is great..!! its been 3.5 weeks, using it daily & noticed results within the first 3 days... you will notice much better endurance & just plain better breathing, doing the 30 reps 2x daily under 4mins. (cap #10-#14).. also the top 2 'diaphragm' abs are more pronounced, just after the 3 weeks of use... I also, use it now on walks daily and I have much better control of my breath & diaphragm muscles.... I love this thing and can see many uses for many people/patients w 'breathing' problems and also professionals - whether athletes or firefighters, this thing is useful and actually works for what it is intended... much better than other 'training masks' that I've tried to use and for just $25 now.. you gotta grab an O2 trainer..!!
