Jules: The book cover is pixelated and the paper used seems to be of poor quality.
The story is a classic though a bit dated on some parts

Silvia SpearsSilvia Spears: It is a lot bigger than I had expected it, though this is not an issue but I did want to post a review with a size reference for anyone who needs the book in a smaller size. The cover was somewhat wet among opening the package though this is what happens when you order paperback I guess.

amanda: It's a really large flat book not the normal size for my book shelf that I didnt like but the book was in good condition and came fast.

Roy: If you're new to classic literature, I don't recommend starting with Dracula (maybe Jules Verne or H G Wells). The language can be a bit dry and difficult to understand, but the storytelling is unique. Bram Stoker was obviously well inspired and knew how to develop a story.
As for this particular book (ISBN 978-1503261389) as manufactured by Amazon, I do not recommend buying it. I wish I had spent a bit more money for a quality edition. This cheap edition is riddled with grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, not to mention how close the text runs to the inside crease. I often struggled to read the words closest to the crease by pushing both hands into the book like a small child struggles to work his tongue into every crevice of the beaters to lick every trace of chocolate cake mix.

UYU906: The writing, of course, is excellent. But with this version of the book, both the front and back covers curled away from the pages of the book, almost as soon as it arrived. Very strange - as I did not subject the book to moisture or bending.

James Creighton: Dracula is one of those classics that really is steeped in mystery and when you compare this classic version to the modern, sparkly, hot, bad boy vampires of today...you can see just how fan fic these adaptions really are. Dracula gives roots to many of these things but, as the original, in a well written and frightening in every way. The buildup and style leads to a very chilling experience and, though we are familiar with vampires these days, the book still holds surprises with his powers if only because the characters are discovering it for the first time and must work out the mystery that is Dracula and how to defeat him and his plans. Give the original a chance over Twilight any day...its much more dramatic, fantastical, tense, and even romantic in equally horrifying and sweet ways.

GaiaBH1: I remember my mum reading this to me as a kid (no joke, I've had a huge thing for vampires since I was a young girl haha!) and I just had to get this book because I was desperate to read it for myself. I am already on Chapter 11 and I only started reading it last night. In my true, honest opinion, this is truly one of, if not the most amazing gothic novel of all time. The literature is exquisite; with very beautiful and meticulous descriptions of all things, everything written in that rich old-fashioned English and oh-so-poetic.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I find it brilliant how Stoker has written the book from the persepctives of the characters, and not from himself. Everything is laid out in diary form and I really like that. If you want to buy this book, you absolutely must if you are a dark soul like myself and are a fan of this genre! It will blow you away and give you the chills. The vampires in this story are my, and I think a lot of people's perception of what vampires are supposed to be.... Blood-sucking, red-eyed, fanged, nocturnal fiends who rise to drink the blood of humans.
What can I say? A true, original, folkloric tale of vampirism....

Alice L Prouty: The story that is commonly known through many movies is for the most part not at all the story in these pages... The book is an epistolary novel with characters diaries being primary in the telling of this tale... Much of the 'horror' of Dracula is in the mystery of the creature and the journey of the characters - first to believe such a thing could exist in their world, then to relying much on superstition and folk tales as the source of essential information to fight back against the power.
The book is an excellent picture of the historic culture and class system. Well worth the time to read in detail!
