Bryce Siemens: It is simple to use and accurate. The features are very simple. I bought it just to take simple measurement so I didn't need the extra function of area and volume. I am disappointed it reads the the 32nd and I can't adjust to just read to the 16th. I never use 32nds. If I would have known this before I would not have bought it. But it still Is a good device. It is strange that it's accurate to a 1/16th but it reads out to the 1/32nd.

Cleatus Tank: While it won't completely replace a tape measure, it makes the need for one much less. I purchased this to measure large distances and widths inside of a room and got tired of fighting my tape measure.

I used it to measure 3 floors of my new office. Each floor totals nearly 13,000 Sq feet. Since it didn't reach the entire distance and width I simply placed a box on the floor at the half way points and then did the math.

Then I used it to measure the exact height that my wireless units were mounted from the floor. This whole process took me about 20 mins total. I was able to use this to create an accurate heat map for our office and ensure proper capacity planning.

The beam is bright, the unit measured ft with inches and is very accurate. I also used it to quickly measure my home office for tax purposes.

For furniture, measuring cuts etc I'll still use a tape measure. Everything else I will use this.

HomeTheaterLover: Installing an above ground swimming pool requires the frame and wall to be near perfect oval. After several attempts with a standard tape measure over an 18' span, I decided to give this a try.

The inside of the pool wall is a dark brown, almost black so I was worried this would not work during the day. Not only did it work well, it made quick work of adjusting the pool walls within 1/16 of an inch.

The only time I didn't get a quick reading was when the sun was shining on the laser receiver. After shading it with my hand, it worked perfectly. I tested it in areas that were lit by the sun, 44' away and it also worked as expected.

One thing I noticed is it stopped reading and had to be reset when I accidentally pointed it at my rotary line Laser.. It was "blind" and kept turned off until I pulled the batteries. That was a dumb thing to do anyway..

I will recommend this to anyone who needs a laser measure outdoors or indoors. Works wonderful.

mikeonephoto: I haven’t used it much, but I am impress. Easy enough to use. Responds time and accuracy is impressive, smaller than I thought it would be, light weight also. Overall I’m happy with purchase.

Times to give some things I would like to have. First, I think all laser measure should come with target card to maximize use. to get a target card independently would cause around $30 which is to me expensive. Still very useable without, but I’m getting one some how.

2nd, this Laser measure struggles outdoor. I can still get a reading around noon, but takes awhile and I’m not 100% confident in its reading. somewhat cloudy day and it was wet on the ground so I didn’t test with a tape to see for accuracy. I just know I can’t depend on it with it struggling to get a reading. I don’t know if I can rectify that problem or not without upgrading.

Last, the fraction reading is small no matter how I look at it. Not sure why it’s not displayed larger. I have very good vision. I don’t have problem reading it but it slows me down a little.

If you can get on sale it’s totally worth it. i think it performs really well. if you can upgrade, I would. I’m not...

Pten: It's a firkin laser. First time user so until I saw the laser dot I wasn't sure how it worked. It has a laser emitter and a mirror sensor side by side. Used tape measure to very accuracy (either they are both correct or they are both off). This unit doesn't come with pouch but needs one to protect emitter and mirror sensor from dust and damage even though they are slightly recessed in casing. I don't want to shove measure in pouch of screws or nails only to have them punctured. Light weight, small, and backlit screen; for price not bad.

David Miller: This item works very well for indoor measurements. However I have had mixed results outdoors. If you are pointing it at a large flat object like a wall it seems to work good. However, I was trying to use it to measure the distance from the pitching rubber to home plate a local ball diamond and despite the fact that I was using a 2' x 3' piece of plywood as a target, I couldn't get a reading. On the other hand, how often are you going to do something like that and I'm pretty sure it wasn't designed for that kind of task. It is very compact and feels good in your hand and very simple to operate. All in all I am pretty happy with my purchase.

G. Robinson: The good:
Accurate to 1.5 mm resolution/repeatability 1mm. Good enough for installs and many cabinet making tasks.
Easy to use.
Small & light.
Some of the calculator functions and the storage exposed via the interface.
Display easy to read.
Easy to change between m&ft.
Controls easy to use (not a bunch of multifunction buttons).

The bad:
Very user hostile packaging. I deducted one star for this. Bosch problem not Amazon.
Product description a bit deceving. Accuracy is 1/16 not the 1/32 resolution.
Toggling ft to m or m to ft clears the measurement instead of converting it.
The bubble buttons are hard to use and unusable with most gloves! Almost worth another star deduction.

The ugly,:
Can't work with ineffective surfaces except very close (well duh)!
Small & light. Took forever to find when left in suit jacket.
No carrying case available.
Additional calculator functions exposed would be nice.
Not as easy to toggle ft and m as it could be.

A good and useful tool particularly at the price. For most users more than adequate.

Borske: Very accurate. I checked it against my tape measure alot on the first job I used it on. It was never wrong. As a matter of fact it measures down to 32's and I only need to go as low as 16's.
It saves me alot of time measuring work spaces by myself.
Only trouble I have is the writing is very small. If you have poor eye sight you will need your glasses to read the small measurements.
The model I bought did not come with a case so i built one from a old drill bit case and some packing foam.I don't imagine it would do well bouncing around inside a tool pouch or tool box for very long.

CaseyCasey: In a previous product review dated October 2015 here on Amazon, someone stated that they wished this unit could display not only Feet + Inches, but just Inches or just Feet. Because I was most interested in Feet + Inches, I purchased this unit anyway, believing that it could not display Feet or Inches alone, but only cycle between Meters and Feet + Inches. However, let me be very clear: This unit can cycle through all 4 modes (see pictures):

Meters
Feet only
Inches only
Feet + Inches

Amazon sells a wide variety of laser measuring tools from several manufacturers. Although this unit is priced higher than most, I agree with nearly all other reviewers that it measures very accurately and provides all of the key features. Its interface is simple and uncluttered, and the build quality is very good.

howard: great laser measuring tool - nice compact size and fast acquisition of distance
works especially well in tight locations where it is not easy to get accurate tape measure readings for precise woodworking
tried long distance measurement to plan out a zipline - works well when it gets a reading however it is difficult to sight the target - easier when it is dark to see what you are locked onto
built in vertical distance measurement (pythagorean theorum) works well for measuring height at a distance - definitely worth attaching a single bubble level on the side of the unit to ensure accuracy and now it works great
would definitely buy again
