Dog Dad: Much easier to use in long spans that a tape measure won’t work for. Makes it easy to measure liner foot needed of something like trim or the sqft of a room. Very easy to use.
One note is not clear on if you place the laser back agaist the wall or put the face of the laser in plane with what you are measuring.

P. McCarthy: My wife and I were preparing to renovate our kitchen, and needed to draw up a floor plan for the flooring and cabinet folks. Neither one of us were happy with the results we came up with; we never could come up with the same dimensions. I went looking for a laser device, and found this item.
I arrived in two days, and we immediately put it to work. It's amazing how simple this is to use; just place the base up against one wall, point it at the other wall, and press the button. The readout gives you an exact measurement.
Were almost finished with the reno now, and we both give credit to the laser for the lack of problems with fit on the cabinets and tile.
