Kindle Customer: This second book in series is great. Very descriptive characters, great adventure, surprises, action, unlikely heroine, a villain. My biggest problem is whether to read the third book next or skip to Academy series and come back to this one. It's a decision I'll have to make . I guess I'll finish this series before going to other books about these same characters. A. L. Knife is another favorite author. This senior likes young adult books so I don't get offended by fowl language. Most enjoyable

Peejay:
Saxony is off to Italy as a nanny. She gets to spend the summer caring for two young boys. When she arrives, she is taken in by the child who does not speak. She finds that his temperature runs very high, which is concerning. Sax is told to always keep him hydrated.
Along the stay, she makes new friends. One is a nice boy and the other is considered corrupt. Unfortunately she books up with the latter, who then thinks he owns her. When she finds out why the little boy doesn't speak and why he is so hot, everything she thinks she knew flies out the door.
It's an interesting story about one of the four best friends. Can't wait to read the next.

Nicola T.:
Really enjoying this elementals series!
Saxony, as a character, is well-developed, a sensitive teenage girl - with all the confidence and flaws (and a hot temper to boot) of being a teenager. She's kind, inquisitive, and boy crazy - just what I would expect from a 17 yrs old young woman.
I'm so impressed with the imagination that went into this story. Saxony has taken a position for the summer as an au pair in Venice, Italy. She has two young charges, one of whom - Isaia- is small and sickly, a fact not revealed to her when she accepted the job. However, the two of them develop a strong bond. When she saves his life, Isaia "gifts" her his condition. She is much stronger and able to bear what was killing him.
The fire magus power (I'm not revealing anything here that isn't evident from the title and book cover) comes with a lot of pain though. And the friends she is making in Italy are not all as well-intentioned as she believes... . Especially following her transformation. Unexpected twists and alliances.
In addition to a great story, i loved the detailed descriptions and history of Venice. I even went online to check out photos of...

Amazon Customer: The book was very captivating, we read a lot, all sorts of books, mystery, romance, fiction, westerns and anything that catches our imagination. While we had heard that these books were more for teen and young people, we would tend to disagree, these books are for anyone who wants a good story that grips your mind and will not let go till you finish the last word. Well written, the plot was well developed, and very few secrets were given away too early. the kind of book that makes you wish there were a few more chapters. But on the other hand perhaps a good thing they were not longer as once you got involved in the story, the real world was forgotten, the house work suffered, the dog only got short walks, the only important thing was getting back to read that book

Roger Fauble: Born of Fire: An Elemental Origins Novel (The Elemental Origins Series Book 2), my tenth read from author A.L. Knorr. WOW! Incredible read! I originally got this book back in May of 2017 & one thing lead to another and I never got around to reading it until now. My mistake. Now I’ve been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it and since I own both the Audible & Kindle editions I was able to follow along while being read to. Gabra Zachman’s talented narration adds to the well-written book's enjoyment. Extremely well written. I’ll be reading more from this author! Better yet this is the second book in a multi-book series that I look forward to reading. Next up, Pyro! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A Motus:
From the little I read in the other books of the Origins of Elements, I knew that Saxony was going to have some temper. And indeed, we can wonder if the fire found Saxony or if Saxony found the fire. But one thing for sure, they get along just fine. But as happy as I was to discover the girl I also loved the new characters who appears in this book. Isaia was just adorable and I was actually very curious about Dante. Even if at the end the new intriguing character is Enzo. The friends that Saxony made during her stay in Italy might not always remind her of sweet memories, more something bitter-sweet, but what memories!
This time the story was much more mysterious and secretive and I just loved that!
This time the power of element came in a different form from the Earth and the Water. But it seems that it still got to deal with an amazing girl as AL Knorr loves to write them.
So get cozy next to the fireplace (or the air-conditioning) and start read this. Be careful it’s highly addicting!
