Julie Bates: The author had some good tips for battling shyness and being self conscious when talking to others. He shares his own experiences, and has some good ideas for keeping conversations going.

Anthoy F. Stefani: I am an introvert and struggle to make small talk with people so I bought this book. I wish my library had this instead of having to buy it because although the book makes some good suggestions, they are geared toward someone who struggles with the most fundamental of social interactions. I could see this book as beneficial not for those who don't like to make small talk or struggle with banal banter, but more for those who have horrible social anxiety or for people new to America and looking for ways to strike up the meaningless polite exchanges expected of us in our culture when we meet someone for the first time or are trying to make small talk with a stranger.

Amazon Customer: I have picked up this book several times to refer to. I am studying abroad in Austria and was having a hard time connecting with new people in a new city. This book is very helpful and is to me, very straight forward facts. But I find that being reminded of them and actively trying to use them helped me so much!

marcelnamouofo: Really good and insightful book which can be applied by everyone. Some examples were a bit cringe but it gets the message about various ways one can have interesting conversations. Anyone who is shy, a bit anxious or generally who wants to pick up new tips for improving their communication should read the book

LUCAS: This is a pretty good, short and sweet style book dealing with the subject of communication. It’s a subject that I’ve personally been interested in for a while and this book did not disappoint. If I had one nitpick, it would be that most of the points are very general in scope, which isn’t a bad thing at all. This book to me seems to be for an audience that is very new to concepts in communication. If you want to go deeper however, I’d probably look elsewhere. But if you’re not even aware of the general concepts of starting a conversation, then by all means pick up this book. You have to start somewhere, and it’s a pretty pleasant and fast read.

Emma Alton: This book is really good to learn good communication with people, going in-depth and providing good examples for clarity. It speaks about getting to know yourself and bringing yourself to your interactions, tailored to who you're introducing yourself to if necessary. It provides strategies, key points and anecdotes to support the teachings. I do highly recommend it if, like me, you do struggle to communicate well with people, especially if you work in a customer service role.
However, the book has obviously not been proofread at any point, making the fact that it is independently published obvious. There are several minor errors littered throughout the book: an extra word left where the sentence had been edited, the wrong choice of word like "they'll" when it should be "there'll". In addition, the author seems to think there are over 9 billion people living on the planet. It means that I occasionally have to rewrite the sentence in my head so it makes sense. If the book were properly proofread and these errors resolved, it would be 5 stars.

Kindle Customer: Great book that provides fantastic practical advice. Simple explanations and easy steps to follow to gain confidence and communicate better. The hard part is to put the action into practice. Small steps and practice makes it work. Writing this review is in itself proof of the effectiveness of the content of this great book. As I rarely like to write reviews.
