RW: I have the identical trek poles for mens and been on the AT several times as well as the OT so had to get my wife the women's version. The ergo is the best way to go with cork for the win.

S P.: I had originally purchased a pair of these at REI a few years ago. They were very comfortable because of the angled wrist area. Unfortunately they were stolen, so I had to replace them.
I'm extremely disappointed to see that the company has chosen to cut costs - and annoy buyers - by not including the rubber tip protector for walking. Originally they were sold with that tip.
To make matters worse, they don't even say anything in the description about what tips are included (or not). I would expect the product to arrive ready to use, but NO, now I have to purchase tips separtely and wait till they arrive.
That's just chintzy and misleading by hiding that minor but necessary detail.
On other thing to made note of, they collapse down, but not small enough for carry-on; must be checked into baggage and pay for that. Bummer.

YogiArts59YogiArts59: I bought these trekking poles to use on our annual trip to climb a mountain (Snowy) in the Adirondacks. I've never used even a walking stick when climbing. At 66 yrs. old I decided maybe I should let my ego go and try trekking poles especially after reading how helpful they are. It's been a particularly wet season and I knew the trail would be treacherous. Snowy is considered pretty difficult and I didn't want to hold anyone back on account of me. The poles really helped me keep my balance across the wet rocks in the streams we had to cross. They took strain off my legs, very helpful going down hill. I did put rubber tip protectors on the ends
