Black & Decker CJ525 Citrus Juicer with CitrusMate Plus Technology

Bryan Carey: Black and Decker Citrusmate is a simplistic small appliance with many good reasons to consider it for your kitchen. This juicer takes up little space, offers cord wrap storage underneath, features a reversible reamer, and produces fresh- squeezed juice for a much lower cost than other juicers.

Black and Decker Citrusmate requires little effort to extract the juice and the reamer is just as effective as the more expensive juicers at maximizing the amount of juice squeezed from your favorite fruit. The reamer on this juicer is reversible and the dual- action is activated by letting up on the pressure, then pressing again. Each time you do this, the reamer spins the opposite way. The back and forth action helps to squeeze out as much juice as possible. The pitcher will be filled with juice rather quickly as you move from one piece of fruit to the next.

Another feature I like with this juicer is its operation. There is no on/off switch and many consumers will find this unusual at first. But this is really for the better because with an on/off switch, you have to continuously flip the switch off and back on as you go from one piece of fruit to the next....

R. Delaney: The juicer works very well at extracting juice from oranges lemon and limes (haven't tried it with grapefruit). The handle is the weak point. Mine broke while I was drying it with a towel. I didn't feel like I was putting all that much pressure on it. Now I need a new carafe. The lid is kinda useless unless you are storing it for an extended time. It needs time to dry out between uses; the lid would make that difficult and promote the growth of mold/mildew. You can put the carafe and reamers in the dishwasher but you will have to wash the strainer part by hand. The larger reamer fits over the smaller one and that seems to work well. The largest opening was letting small seeds in the orange into the juice. The middle setting keeps that from happening and is fine with me. Good juicer except for the handle. I juice oranges about 10 everyday. It doesn't seem to have much problem with them. I agree with other posters that say that it is easy to juice. The raised ridges on the reamers do a good job on the oranges with little effort.

K. J. MacDonald: This is a great juicer, considering it's value, it's fantastic. It stands steadily on the counter while juicing any kind of citrus fruit, which it has 2 different size cones for. Other juicers I've tried failed to stand steady which is a major drag. It has 3 settings for pulp, little pulp and no pulp, assembles easily, cleans easily and quickly. It has a self-reversing reamer, that automatically changes direction upon to much pressure applied, and a stirrer, that circles to press down the pulp. This is a GREAT feature! I found myself holding the juicer while squeezing and stirring myself on other machines... wishing I had one more hand. With this B&D product, you'll juice 36 ounces in less than 2 minutes, which is what the container holds, an average of 5 full tumblers of juice. It also juices the fruit effortlessly and efficiently, leaving no flesh in the peal. The only downside I found is that the lid doesn't fit the jug once the strainer unit is removed. You would have to store it with strainer & lid in your fridge or cover it otherwise. Motor runs also steadily and quietly; I can only recommend this product. We use it every 2nd day, even our 2.5 year...

Lou: I ordered this juicer since I do use lots of citrus in my cooking and I am always trying new recipes. I have a juicer attachment on my Cuisinart food processor, but the thought of digging out all of the components and putting them together is not on my "top 10" list. I can readily grab the juicer out of the cupboard and quickly juice a lime or orange.

It has a pulp regulator for no pulp or lots of pulp. It is easy to clean and very easy to use. You don't need much pressure to juice your item and the reverse juicing really helps to get all the juice out so you don't miss a drop. The juicer is adjustable for small and larger items and has made cooking even more enjoyable.
