CarolineCaroline: This is the second brand I tried because the first was too small to keep my big ol 16 lb kitty from licking the wound on his back leg. Very happy with this one! It's well made and my sweet kitty appreciated that it could also be used as a pillow to increase the comfort factor of his cat naps. I found that fluffing the petals occasionally was helpful to keep it nice and full and symmetrical. It didn't prevent him from eating or drinking but my animals all drink from a big dog bowl so it did get wet and squeezing it with a towel to keep it dry was necessary.

HoneyHoney: She can see, she can eat, and she can actually climb into the small hole for her litterbox. It's soft and comfortable. I know it says dry clean only but I'm a laundry obsessed freak and know you absolutely can wash dry clean only clothes. I just did it to the donut with cold water and air dried it and it survived. My cat is 6.8 pounds with a very tiny head, kind of like those lollipops called dumdums haha. But the neck pull string is great and the neck piece fabric where it actually holds on to the cat could definitely fit a bigger cat than her since it's more of the neck that matters than head size I think. I tightened it to where I could fit two fingers and since she's uh... loopey from pain meds she hasn't bothered ripping it off.

This might not be good for extremely strong and angry cats, but if your cat is just sleepy and exhausted it's great. Or if your cat has a super long neck they might be able to reach over somehow because the donuts quite flat (part of what makes it more comfortable for the cat.... since it's not blocking their eyes)

Misha: We have four cats and they all hate having even a soft cone post-surgery (as they've had for spaying and neutering). I thought that it would be a good idea to have this Donut Collar on hand in case any of them had an injury and/or needed surgery. The problem is that the opening isn't wide enough to fit over two of our cats' necks without a struggle. They are both females under 10 lbs. One of our male cats is a Maine Coon who weights 18 lbs., so I'm not discounting my rating about the collar not going over his head. He's in a very different size range than most cats. Our other male cat is medium sized, about 9 -10 lbs (usually 9 lbs now that he is a senior cat), but it is a struggle to try to put the donut over his head and struggling wouldn't be good if he'd just had surgery. It's also a bit tight on his neck without even pulling the strings to tighten it. I would love it if this collar came in size S/M (which is what the present size offered seems to be) and in a size L/XL. It's a great product and I'd order a second one if I could get it in a size that would fit my male cats.

Ron Louis: We've gone through 3 similar soft collars for our cat and this is the only one wide enough to keep him from scratching his mouth. He's got a small neck but cats are super limber so it wasn't hard for him to get around the other collars. This one works perfectly for a small cat and might get a second one.

Kaiden-Shenandoah Knapp: I got this for my cat (5 year-old Himalayan Siamese mix, 9 to 10 lbs, got her the Small, fits her great) because I liked the pun of her doughnut's design being a doughnut. It's been alright, but there's one glaring thing I wish I had been warned about (or better warned about, if I had missed something that was in the description).

It's thinner than I expected. It's not awful, just pretty flat. She can still reach a margin of her back haunches, her tail, and her back feet if she stretches. If you're okay with potentially re-filling this after your purchase (assuming the seam allowance will, y'know, allow it; I'm too poor at sewing to try), that'd probably be better.

I've seen people complain about the black pull-close security-tie, and it's been fine in my experience. I just tugged it to be on the other side, where she can't reach it and potentially hurt herself.

Also, I read on here that this is at least partially made of velvet? (I remember because I hate to touch velvet due to sensory issues I have, but I thought it'd be fine since I wouldn't be wearing it) But the tag on the actual item only lists polyester, it says "100% polyester" in fact. And I touched...

Amanda Azzopardi: Very cute but unfortunately is too small for my 20 pound cat. I want to return it but it cost half of what it's worth to send it back. No free returns. So I guess I'll keep it in case my smaller cat might need it some day or I'll sell it.
