Natalie Bava: I bought this book for my fourth grader. We would take turns reading it out loud and my other child would hear parts of the story as well. We enjoyed each and every chapter of this book! The characters, humor, and reoccurring themes were all excellent and just built on top of one another. I also felt like in a lot of ways, it helped my child to realize that everyone comes from different living conditions and upbringings. This book was entertaining and never boring. We are excited to read more from this series.

Brittany H.: These are absolutely adorable stories (the entire series is great, this is the first one). I read these aloud to my 5yr old and 9yr old and they both Love the stories. The books could be read in any order as author gives background information in each book but I think they are best read in order. The main character, a hamster, is unquestionably lovable and values helping. You can't help but care about this classroom pet! The ending of each book is so nicely tied up you will really feel like you had these experiences right along with Humphrey and celebrate the close each book. Overall, well written children's books appropriate for elementary students. Some of life's Big issues/lessons are addressed in a subtle, tactful, and age appropriate ways, which is also well done.

Nyomic: My 7yo loved this book. She was hooked from the start. It's written from the Hamsters perspective yet touches on human emotions and peoples personal situations in a lovely subtle way. Guiding children to be more considerate to others as you never know what they are going through. I've had to order two more in the series for midterm to keep her busy 😂

Amazon Customer: This is a book about a classroom hamster and his thoughts and adventures Humphrey seems to solve all classroom problems very good to get children reading as it is quite funny and interesting at the same time, a child could believe that these are what a hamster would say or write down if they could talk. Fantastic book for children. A good way to encourage a reluctant reader - and suitable for both boys and girls. I would say this book is suitable for age 8 - 12 year olds to read by themselves but a child of 6 would also enjoy them if someone read the book to them. I think the Humprey books are really good and are written to capture a childs imagination. It also gives hamster tips really good if your child owns a hamster.
