Beichen 4200V Waterproof Electric Bug Zapper Lamp - Keep Mosquitoes Away!

T.Johnson: I plugged the bug zapper in on June 15, 2023. It sat inside on my mantle zapping bugs until September 25, 2023 when the bulb quit working. I calculate approximately 2625 hours of use on an advertised 10000 hour bulb. Fortunately, it came with an extra bulb. I inserted the new bulb today (9/26/2023), I’m hoping it will last 10K hours, but I have my doubts. Zapper works great when the bulb is working.

Ron Toolsie: The media could not be loaded.  This unit is very easy to set up...just plug in the bulb, replace the bottom plate and depress the on button on the top. The design is ultra modern in an Italian sort of way. The voltage on the grids is definitely high enough to give a hard shock (note to self...turn unit off before putting hand inside to install bulb). Within a day these few pesky indoor mosquitos that had resisted swatting were vaporized and never returned.
My only mild complaints is that the bottom plate needs a decent twist to lock it in...otherwise it will fall off if the unit is lifted. And the on-off button is black against a black background and difficult to find in dim light. A central white dot would have made it much more locatable.
A bonus...this comes with one extra replacement bulb which would not be needed for several years as the stated bulb life is long. It is more likely that the replacement bulb will be misplaced long before its actually needed.

EDIT....the bulb blew 6 months after purchase. As I predicted above, I misplaced the replacement, so I ordered a 4-pack for $20.00.

argiope: It was effective for the five months it worked. I kept it by the door - which I like to keep open most of the time - and it zapped bugs often. Especially nice during mosquito time. But then the lamp burned out. Maybe it’s replaceable, but I don’t care because my 17yr old dinosaur bug zapper still works just fine. I had wanted a lighter.l, smaller zapper — but perhaps there is a reason these are so cheap.

jermaine mercer: This product was delivered to my house on August 4th and it stop working on September 17th. The product did a great job killing the bugs, but it did not last long I would like a refund.

would I buy again?
Since I wrote this review the last 2 bulbs have failed. I have these indoors and they are on 24hrs, (there is no automatic light sensor to turn unit off during the day)
I checked the cost of the replacement bulbs they are 10.99 after a 42% discount.
I am glad to see all the 5 star review, and positive comments, however at 76 and on SS $22.00 to replace both bulbs the lasted less then 6 weeks.

Not long "after" receiving my 2 Zappers I received a direct communication from the factory that due to worker shortage from covid-19 there may be some quality control issues.

I was very impressed that a company reached out and not only provided the information but also including tips on what to look for and possible solutions.

I did experience one was easily resolved by plugging in the bulb that had come loose in shipping. The other was a little more complicated since it was the power switch.
The company did mention that might be an issue in their memo.
I was set to return for exchange but decided to checkout the switch on my own and after generous use of electrical contract cleaner (with power off!) and continuous...
