Lon F. Binder: This was a breeze to set up and had been wishing reliably day in and out. Our bridge is about 10 feet away, through a wall; while i was worried about connectivity issues, it's been perfect

Shelia Cain: Love the fact that we can unlock the door for friends or family when we aren’t home.
The only thing I didn’t like was when we lost power, it disconnected from the internet and took me a while to re-connect it.

PT: Just have to keep in mind that this only works for one lock. I have two and I thought it could work as a bridge for both locks to save the locks from draining the batteries so often. Usually I'd get a low battery warning in 2-3 months by turning on both Bluetooth and wifi on the locks with this, it should help reduce the number of times I have to replace the batteries. Overall, if you intent to keep your august locks for many years, this will help you save money in the long run. It's not great that this device is sold separately and needing to fork more money out on top of your initial investment

Random236: Installation was easy...the plug it in step that is. The app/lock/connect unit were all being uncooperative. After thinking about it for awhile, I factory reset the lock (i had the lock installed for a month already), cleared the cache for the app and started from scratch. Bingo! Works great! Will update in a few weeks to give a better or worse review......
UPDATE... Well it's been a few months and you will not have a problem with it if you NEVER unpair it from the app/lock or change your home Wi-Fi or wifi SSID or get a new router. Basically... Don't do anything once you set it up otherwise you will become extremely frustrated trying to set it up again and most likely start drinking beer before the sun comes up and then vodka for breakfast.

uthertibbs: First, the good... When it's working it is absolutely amazing. When connected it does exactly what it says on the tin, I can access and receive updates from the lock from anywhere. I have found the auto-unlock works better and the ability to use voice commands to tell the door to lock via Alexa (or ask Alexa if the door is locked) is very handy. By default unlocking via Alexa is disabled, which makes sense. Someone could otherwise literally shout through the door and tell Alexa to unlock your home.
Now, minor issues; if you remotely lock your lock (or unlock it), the status doesn't change on the App for a good long while, even if the log shows it was completed successfully. There was not good feedback on if the device locked or unlocked and when you can't see or hear the lock that is a bit disconcerting. I also found the notifications don't always work but they are in the log of the app, I think this is an app issue not a service issue.
Now for the bigger issue (IMO a design flaw). I have also found that it was easy enough to get working, but it required some tinkering. This tinkering was mostly because of a serious design flaw that I can't possibly understand why...

R. Frost: Over all the August Lock Is a solid investment that is easy to setup and allows you to keep your physical keys. If you have little ones in the house the Door sensor alerting you to open doors is a god send. It works with both Google Home and Alexa, and has (limited) integration with IfTTT.
There are some things you should be aware of, I don't think they're deal breakers but they are worth taking note of...
1. The geofence (design to auto lock / Unlock) your door is too wide. I have to be down the street before my door locks, which is plenty of time for someone to sneak into my home...
2. The door open alerts, take an entire minute, I'd prefer this to be a user adjustable setting and have it alert in real time
3. 1 hub per lock seems wasteful and a bit of a cash grab, I've spoke to support, and no matter how you slice it, this makes no sense to me and should be corrected with a firm ware update.
4. A bit on the noisy side. I'm not talking wake the house up, but it can be a bit jarring.

Roman Melnyk: Ok so here goes another review. Hopefully this will help all users willing to dive into this lock. First I have to say that as for the Smart Lock 3rd gen goes, the unit is absolutely well built. Super solid and installs great. The auto unlock and auto lock feature works amazing. Love it. But sadly there is always a down side. So here is the down side.
1). The August Wi-Fi connect is just horrible. I connected it to the lock no problem but trying to add it to google home was just a nightmare. Added the device in google home and it did not work. Removed it from google home and tried to add it again, nothing. Did not even show up anymore but said it was successful. After hours of trying to unlink and link it in google home. I decided to reinstall the august connect from the reset to pairing it to the lock again. Bingo the device finally decided to show up in google home. Tried to contact august and spent 1.5 hours on hold with no one answering. Just gave up. There is no customer service. Be WARNED !!!!!!! you are on your own.
2). The Bluetooth range on the august Wi-Fi connect it really really bad. Once installed it shows good signal but after a while it always reports...
