JustRanda: I love having a new set of Arlo cameras, so easy to keep charged. I simply had to connect to Wi-Fi with an app and set it down and it's ready to go. I'm actually using this inside and can't decide if I'm going to mount it on the back porch or not! Ot can work indoors or out. Great picture quality & price! Love the easy set up and direct to wifi rather than the 'hub' system. One less device on my wifi is a win!

SoccerSue: The picture quality on these cameras is AMAZING!! You also have sound and can talk to visitors at the door from your phone! We have one of the cameras on the side of the house where there is no exterior light. The light on the camera is not strong enough for us to see the images, so we installed a solar light with a motion sensor to illuminate that side of the house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Jack Wiedo: I had this product since mid June 2023. It was aggravating to set up at first but once I got past that it worked pretty well. I was really impressed and pleased with it for what it was. The battery life was not the best. Especiallyin areas with any regular activity. It did not hold up great so I regretted not getting the solar chargers. Worked pretty well for almosy 90 days.

Then in mid September 2023 a firmware update was pushed thru that effectively turned the cameras to unusable bricks.

I contacted customer support. They were fairly helpful in trying to diagnose the problem but after 30 days and an obscene amount of hours (>12) talking with customer support, they closed the original case despite the problem not being rectified and still having 3 cameras that do not work despite >12 hours through many sessions of direct customer support (not counting independently working through or email correspondence). Their last direction was taking the direction of my router, rather than taking ownership of a bad software update that screwed up their cameras. Customer service is inept.
This product truly has the potential to be great when it works...

Reader1Reader1: I’m really quite amazed. I purchased the Orbi 4g LTE modem-router for non-cable WiFi connection and matched the Orbi to 4 Arlo Essential security cameras. Should work, right? Never did anything like this before. Like so many of these electronic combinations that I’ve theorized about in the past, I assumed this wouldn’t work either. I talked to several advisors – Orbi technicians, Arlo community contributors. Everyone said it should work. And it did!!!! Amazing!!

The Orbi LBR20 was a bit of a challenge. The Obi app was skittish … worked sometimes, sometimes got stuck. The password used to set-up my Orbi account (Netgear) was not the same as the password needed to activate the Orbi modem-router for Internet connection; the Orbi password is printed on the label at the bottom of the Orbi unit … Oh, that password.

PureTalk (really AT&T) indicated that they had coverage for my barn’s Zip Code but could not guarantee the Sim card would work with Orbi LBR20 … not quite the confidence booster I needed. Ok … so brave as I am, I purchased the PureTalk Sim card and a 6 Gig data plan.

There have been many breakins in my area and the distance that it picks up will help keep my neighbors safe too. Siren is loud so my neighbors can hear it and the spotlight gives enough light!
