Mike: Initial Review — I will write another review after I have had the pump in service for a year or more.
New out of the box: OUTSTANDING! Amazing! I love it!
This pump delivers huge amounts of air at pressures high enough for any home aquarium I have seen. It is QUIET — VERY QUIET.
I am using the pump on a 55 gallon aquarium with air stones at a depth of 17 inches. I have the device placed a few inches above the top of the aquarium.
The push-button air flow adjustment is not a gimmick. There are 3 levels of flow, and this is very functional. I’d say it is necessary for many installations because when the pump is placed on high, it delivers more air than my tank can handle — and that is from just 1 of the 2 outlets. You will find that having an extra bleeder valve to lower pressure will be helpful.
The included instructions are actually USEFUL! When was the last time you heard anyone say that?
I am so impressed with this air pump that I can honestly say it is the best I have ever used, and I have been keeping fish since the 1960’s. Let’s hope I say the same thing a year from now.

Everyday Bro: Initially thought it was loud, but after plugging the air hose in you can barely hear it... like your phone set to vibrate on 1/10 power level (if that were a thing)

Nathan Wesche: I had a Tetra Whisper 100 (the biggest regular one) air pump for my 90-gallon tank, running two sponge filters. I think I probably had used the Tetra pump previously for a different tank and it worked fine. In the 90-gal though (deeper than most common tanks, it struggled to get air down to the sponge filters even when they were only halfway down to the bottom of the tank. I got this AQQA pump since it's supposed to work well even for very deep tanks. HOLY COW IT DOES! Got it on the lowest power setting and it's still way more bubbles than I've ever seen from one of my sponge filters, even with the sponge at the BOTTOM of tank. So far this thing is awesome (and essentially silent). I highly recommend it (and will edit my review if something goes wrong).

Amazon Customer: I bought a whisper 100 for my 55 gallon tank, it cost just a few bucks less than this one, it was noisy as all heck from the start, (I had to install it in a separate room it was so noisy). It worked fine but seemed to putter out a bit after a year or so. This new one here is FAR SUPERIOR for near the same price, it provides tons more air volume at the low setting (3 settings) and its so quiet I had to focus on it to make sure its running...that's if I'm not looking at the ridiculous amount of air bubbles in my tank, I run under gravel filters and a maternity tank, all this at low setting too. Pump is just as quiet at high setting but this is way too much air flow! (for me) Low setting seems almost double airflow that of a whisper 100 in my opinion... at low setting. Maybe I had a bad whisper? Dunno, don't care. UPDATE: Had this for 1 3/4 years now, this air pump is still going STRONG, flawless.
