Darius: For the past 6 years, I've been wary about water filters from using Britta to Pur to Zero water, I felt that most of these brands were scams especially Zero Water, I tried these filters out and didn't like the taste of the water and I would feel sick when drinking it. Zero water was the barely decent one and the filter would go out every 1 week or less (like 4 days, HUGE SCAM) and I would need to be a replacement filter that will also last one week. So that is $50-$60+ per month for barely decent water. So, I stuck to drinking water bottles. I always wished there was a portable reverse osmosis water filter and I came across this product.
For the past 5 months now, it's been great giving me a quality taste of water without feeling sick. That encouraged me to stop buying water bottles in general. What I wish for that this product had was a signal/notifier/ any sort of machine built into it to tell me any problems with it such as filter replacement, and other potential warnings.

VivianeCOVivianeCO: I'd like to first comment on how happy my husband and I are with this system now, but first I will note some errors on my journey to find the best filter.
I did not know much about RO systems or much about any water filter or water specifications (what's good, bad or necessary for our health).
I was also looking for an affordable but top quality way of drinking clean water so I had assumed that getting this filter would solve all my problems.
I bought this countertop RO filter (without the calcium carbonate filter which is about $20 bucks cheaper), about two weeks later my husband had his first gout attack.
I then started to do my research and I learned that there are studies suggesting that because the RO filter system removes EVERYTHING (good and bad minerals and impurities) out of the water and because when water is acidic it tends to compesate by taking from other sources on its path, so it will take minerals out of your body. Absolute clean will also corrode metals, it will leach minerals in contact with metals, it will do the same to our bodies. I started to panic on the inside knowing that my husband was suffering in terrible amounts of pain that wouldn't stop...

StevenSteven: I am so very impressed with this countertop system! I have never owned a reverse osmosis filter setup, and have always relied on Brita pitchers or the like, bottled water, or been content with the tap. I live in the Bay Area, CA, and, while the tap water is reputed to be of above-average quality, and my apartment is only 4 years old, I still noticed hard-water stains on my glass tea kettle, coffee water reservoir, and dishes after washing. Also, even though I felt like I had ample motivation to drink more water, I didn't seem to want to drink my apartment's tap water, preferring instead the water jug at work.
I decided to purchase a $15 TDS water meter on Amazon. I know that some people, better informed than I am I am sure, argue that TDS meters are not helpful since they do not specify which solids are present in the water. Still, though, I knew I liked the water at work, and didn't like it from my tap at home, so I was curious what the readings would be. The home tap water was in the 260s ppm; the water from the cooler at work was between 80-90 ppm. Some evidence that perhaps a filter at home might increase the taste of the water.
The setup of the countertop system...

Kai: It is a great countertop RO system, easy to install and change filters when needed. I measured the TDS before (~100) and after (~10) installation of the RO system and it indeed makes a huge difference. I added an external pH balance and a remineralization candle as the RO water (not just for this system, but for any RO system) is essentially a little acidic.
