Fuddy: 5 months and this replacement battery is working just as designed. It actually has worked longer than the original battery, which thrills me to no end. It is very easy to replace without having to shut down power (hot swappable).

Her Indoors: My APC 1500 GI UPS stopped working and the PowerChute software app was showing a replace battery symbol. (I can't complain as the original battery lasted 7 years).

I ordered this battery as a replacement and it came next day. It was so easy to swap, just switched off, unplugged the unit and laid it on it's side, removed the battery cover, pulled the old battery out (using the pull tabs on it) and pushed this replacement battery into the slot. I then slid the battery cover back on, stood it upright, plugged it in and switched on.

Using the PowerChute software I selected the self test menu and clicked the update battery replacement date button, which changed the battery replacement date to today's date. I then clicked on the self test button to run a self test, which told me it passed.

The unit is now back in full operation and running on this new battery. I am really pleased at how quick and easy the whole process was, with no tools required!

mikee: Everything went smoothly ordering, installing this replacement battery pack. However, today my UPS is telling me the battery is failing self test. I'm past the support window with Amazon, so guess I'll be phoning APC directly. I have a sinking feeling about this whole purchase now. If I'm able I'll update this review once I find out what transpires.
UPDATE Heard nothing from APC but I decided to do my own test on the battery. It now looks like the issue is not the battery itself but my UPS battery self/manual test. I unplugged my UPS and left my computer equipment running consuming 70 Watts. The UPS indicated 60 mins operating time left and the Power Chute software was set to shutdown the computer when 5 minutes operating time was left. Everything worked out perfectly with the shutdown occurring after 55 minutes operation, turning off the computer and the UPS. I plugged in the UPS and started things up again. After allowing the battery to come to full charge I performed a manual self test and the battery passed no problem. I'm happy that the battery is OK but have a suspicion that the battery I replaced may have been fine because like this one it was failing...

Rick: This is a long review. I have re-written it based on what I have discovered. Hope it will help you if you have the problem I had.

This battery works fine. 5 stars for the battery, not so much for APC customer service. Read on.....

I purchased it to replace the original battery in my BR1500G UPS. This UPS, and its original battery, was placed in service in January, 2014. According to the test data sheet that came with it, the UPS itself was tested on 9/9/2013, so it was manufactured sometime in 2013.

I have 6 UPS systems because we used to have a lot of brief power interruptions (not as many now, Florida Power and Light has really improved their system, but we still have one or two brief interruptions every few months). These UPS's are located around the house one in our "rack room" where I have our Synology server, cable modem, router, ethernet switches, phone system, Sonos Connect equipment, one at the main Dish Network DVR , and at our 4 iMac/PC's we have around the house.

I routinely replace UPS batteries after 3 years, but somehow missed this one. So after 4+ years the battery failed.

Global Consultant: I am posting this review more for APC than Amazon. While redoing my home office a few years back, I purchased four APC BR1500G Backup Power Towers. The units are always on (24x7x365). The units worked well until about one year ago, when each of the batteries started to die.

I ordered this as the replacement battery last July (7/15), then ordered another this Feb (2/16). This June, both of these units failed, as well as one additional unit. So now I was facing the replacement of three batteries, or looking at some newer technology.

While trying to decide if I replace the APC units or try the replacement battery route again, I called APC product support and spoke with a specialist named "Mo".

After providing the serial numbers of the dead batteries, Mo was able to determine that the "new" batteries had actually been made a few years ago, and had already lost their ability to keep a charge. I guess Amazon may have had those batteries in inventory for a longer period of time than expected. The APC batteries come with a one year warranty.

After supplying the receipts to APC, Mo replaced each of the batteries and had them shipped to...
