Danielle: The Vampire Chronicles are always a good read. If you like the other books you will not be disappointed as Marius is a main character through most of the Vampire Chronicles.

LeAnna McCoy: I knew from reading past reviews of this work that it pretty much recapps other books she has written so I wasn't expecting anything else. I enjoyed reading some more of the back story however. I have to say I didn't like Marius before reading this book, and I like him even less now. I was always bothered by how he simply abandoned Amadeo to his awful fate and used Bianca to heal then was so ready to leave her for Pandora. I feel he got what was coming to him in regards to his miserable life. Bianca was strong enough to leave him on her own, but Amadeo desperately needed to be rescued, instead, Marius leaves him in a personal hell and won't involve himself in it because "all I saw in him was the same desperate saddness". Gee, I wonder why! Marius professed to love Amadeo, but I don't call that love. He used him when he needed him, then walked away when it might mean a little pain for him. His obsession with Pandora irritated me. I mean, he was the one who left her! Thorn was a confusing character, but somewhat enduring. Maharet I never cared for. She was a weak leader at best. Santino absolultely deserved what he had coming, but I cant understand why it took Marius so long to...
