Tara Murphy: Lauren Tarshis is the master of drawing her readers in from the very first page. This book did not disappoint! My 3rd through 5th grade students and I read it over the course of two weeks. We could have read it faster but I wanted to intersperse the reading with lessons on the ship and it's sinking, the geography and the science. It inspired quite a bit of explorational learning and encouraged my kiddos to choose new I Survived books to continue reading. This series is a gem, even for reluctant readers!

Amazon Customer: Such a good read. Short book, just enough to introduce the Titanic in my classroom and gives enough detail about the ship for us to investigate/research. A super balance of fact and fiction as addresses lack of lifeboats and the differences between the class of accommodation as well as a loveable character to bring the story to life.
