Connie: I’ve been taking in Dr. Amy’s instructions for the last 2 years. I found her when I was going through a lot of new anxiety and panic attacks that I had never experienced before. Turns out my gut was absolutely wrecked. I took the steps to heal my system and I’m even better now than what I was before. Life looks and feels so much better. I highly recommend her books, recipes, podcasts, and to follow her on IG!

L. Sledge: I'm exhausted after having been on a healing journey for several years. I appreciate that this book is written in very simple terms. I don't have the energy to read much these days and so much that's written about hormonal/adrenal/thyroid issues is complicated and leaves me even more confused. I also appreciate that she doesn't recommend anything crazy expensive or radical. I've spent thousands on supplements and doctors at this point. I'm already doing much of what she suggests, which does make me a little disappointed that I'm not feeling better but overall, the book reaffirmed that I'm on the right path and I can definitely tweak some of the things I'm doing. So I'm going to keep going forward with her suggestions and see how it goes.

Andrea Thiessen: Loved this book and that it addresses what a lot of women I'm sure can identify with; that our western health care system is not equipped or had enough research into women's health. Highly recommend this book anyone sick of going to the doctor with so many unanswered questions, only ever hearing that it's probably because you're middle aged and have small kids.

B. Evans: I’m not sure where to start. I was really excited to get this book, and I truly enjoyed the read. It was incredibly insightful. As someone who heavily studies the impact of food on our health, etc., I feel like everything starts to sound the same after a while so I was hesitant to buy another health book. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The reason why I am only giving 3 starts is because I felt like the info was a bit unorganized and the meal plan and recipes were CERTAINLY unorganized. As a type A personality, I really struggled with the food plan and recipes. The shopping lists were incomplete, so I would use those in the store to purchase the ingredients for the recipes - and come to find out on day X, that I didn’t have an ingredient I needed for a recipe. Turns out it wasn’t even on the shopping list. Also, these recipes are not “quick and easy” as the author claim… I’m not new to the cooking world - I know my way around a kitchen and am pretty effective with time management. But most of these recipes are not realistic for busy people who don’t want to spend their entire evenings in the kitchen. My advice is to read the book, but don’t bother with the...

R McArdell: Finally a book that says that you don't have to be exhausted all the time. It's not just "aging" and it can be fixed. The fact that your gut is connected to everything is nothing new if you've been reading any of the more recent health books, but the focus on women's health and the hormone connection is what sets this title apart. It focuses on circadian fasting. What to eat, when to eat, and managing stress. This book is a lifestyle that seems very doable. A combination of traditional Western medicine and functional medicine. This book is science based, as the author is an MD, and combines the author's own experience with that of her patients'. I liked the fact that Dr. Shah has personal experience and that her research was driven by her personal search for answers. It was that personal connection that made this book stand out for me. An enlightening read.
