The size shown is next to 2 regular sized cans of soda, and the time is boiling 0.5 L of water (just about 2 minutes). I have not timed out a full litre, but 0.5L is enough for an oversized mug.

Clementina Obregón: Lo usamos diario en la oficina desde hace dos años. Muy fácil de usar y mucha durabilidad. No tiene control de temperatura, se apaga cuando empieza a hervir pero si uno quiere agua más tibia la apaga antes. Hierve bastante rápido considerando nuestra corriente de 120V. Me gusta que tenga base y la hervidora se pueda mover sin tenerla que desenchufar lo cual es cómodo para servir o llevar agua caliente a la sala de juntas.

MA-reader: I’ve recently decided to abandon my method of making my tea in the microwave, which is considered a mortal sin among tea connoisseurs, and try an electric kettle. Researching, they run the gamut in price, and I wasn’t in the mood to spend $200 on a tea kettle when I wasn’t sure I’d like the method. So I bought this one, Amazon Basics, to give it a try.

As the name says, it is a very basic electric kettle, it has no bells and whistles, it just heats water. But it does that pretty well.

The Pros.
1. Reasonably priced
2. The 1.0-liter size is just right for my needs
3. This thing is fast! It brings to a full boil cold filtered water for a large mug of tea in about 2 minutes.

I’m taking off 1 star because there are some quality control and design issues.
1. Wobbly. Very, very wobbly. The base that the kettle sits on doesn’t sit flat on the counter. That’s quality control, and it’s wobble #1. Then, when you insert the kettle on the base, and that, too, is wobbly. Design or quality issue, not sure, but it’s Wobble #2. So you have wobbly on top of wobbly, which equals WOBBLY. When the water is really boiling, the kettle rocks and rolls...

The Desert CatMom: Nice design and easy to use. Love the way the base plate has all the electrics and the pot itself is separate.
I bought this so I could make Taster's Choice instant coffee now and then. Its so much better than doing this on an electric stove. This is very fast and works simply. It even stops once the water is boiling and is very fast. Got the Taster's Choice on Amazon as well. Thanks Amazon

Kindle Customer: Love it so far. Works as advertised. No quality issues so far. Fill it up, press the button and walk away. No more babysitting the kettle. Heats the house up WAY less, so much better for use when the air conditioning is on. I use it as part of my morning routine to clean and preheat a stainless steel vacuum coffee carafe. And when somebody wants tea, hot cocoa, or whatever, you can walk away and do other things while your water heats up. And no risk of forgetting the stovetop kettle, having it boil dry, and causing unpleasant issues.

Colby D. May: There's really not a whole lot to say because this little kettle is a very good product. It's made very well, unlike some other Amazon Basics items I've bought before, and it looks good. It's just the right size at one liter for our household, where only two adults get use out of it. It boils water quickly and keeps it hot for a little while afterwards, which is good for an instant coffee drinker like me. The lid opens easily and I like the heat-resistant dot on the top of the lid for closing it without getting burned. Finally, it pours nicely, the water forming a nice arc into your cup and never dribbling. It's a very under-complicated tool that works well for a low price. Hard to ask for more than that.
