The Amazon Basics Line-Interactive UPS 1500VA 900 Watt Surge Protector Battery Power Backup is the ideal Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for any home or office. With 10 outlets, it ensures that all your devices are protected from power outages and surges. The UPS is designed for maximum durability and performance, and its tech support team is always available to help you out. It is the best UPS in terms of build quality, overall performance, and durability. T. Stull: I've bought 6 of these and spread them out through the house for different important electronics. I've been very happy with them.
Today the power went out in my office while I was working. Ok no problem the battery should hold out. The beeping started to let me know the power is off. I checked the breaker & tried to reset it but it wouldn't stay. Within 10 minutes it was rapidly beeping and shut down on me. Unplugged everything in the room. Reset breaker & power was restored. Plugged battery back in and breaker popped again.
I guess I should've bought a warranty but it was probably more than the battery. I guess 1 out of 6 isn't bad.

excudit: Getting the software for this thing is a complicated and inconvenient process. The steps listed in the manual that comes with it do not work. If you open the User Guide in the Product Description section it has links to download the software, but they don’t work either. Instead, they mention the name of the software, PowerMaster +. You need to do an internet search for that name, which leads you to the software developer’s website, and from there you can get the software.
Once you finally get the software downloaded and installed (choose local when it asks local or remote) you have to use a username/password to login. The defaults are admin/admin. When you get everything set up the software does give useful information, on the device itself, the UPS status (Input/Output/Battery) and a log of recent events. There are also menus that let you test the battery, estimate how long your computer will run on battery, and additional settings and reporting tools.

BrianT: Took 3 minutes to plug it in, attach my modem and attach my voip phone and wait. The next day after giving the unit time to charge up unplugging it showed no service interruption. Just waiting till out next blackout to see how long it will keep a charge.

Ron: Brownout are a fact of life in the country, so this was long over due. It's a good value for price, but little cryptic to set up at first (you need to hold the power button for a couple of seconds to get the UPS outlets to provide power). Once it's set up, it's fine. I connected the included USB cable to my Mac Mini and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Mac OS on my computer immediately recognized the UPS battery, and that I could manage the UPS setting with the OS Energy Saver preference panel - without needing to install the Amazon software. Very handy!

ErwinErwin: My old Cyber Power UPS of 20 years all of a sudden beeped a few times and after that zero power came out.
I looked at a few different UPS’s on here and I decided to try the Amazon Basics. I had never heard of that brand name and was looking to buy another Cyber Power UPS. However I decided to try the simple Amazon basics and am glad I did as it is very similar to my old one while being a bit more powerful.
I also wanted just something simple where its only function was to provide temporarily uninterrupted power to my computer system during power surges or a few seconds of power outages and as such limit risk to my sensitive computer components.
I followed the instructions and charged it up for 8 hours before usage. In fact I probably had 16 hours as I let it charge up overnight. Next morning I plugged in my surge power bar into the UPS and all went well. I then shut off the breaker on the fuse panel and all power went out in my room while the UPS kept the computer on without as much as a blip. The only sound that was heard was the UPS bleeping twice in a row to warn one that I forgot to pay the Hydro bill and you are now on battery backup.
It has 8 AC...

OK, I appear to be one of the early adopters for this product & so far so good.
I have the 450W 800VA model.
Power cord & plug: right angle plug with the prongs rotated to allow easy access to the 2nd outlet = good. Power cord is about 6 feet = good
Casing is some grade of ABS plastic, it feels & sounds kind of thin, but as I an mot intending this thing to be a foot rest or a doorstop that will get impacts I am not concerned. Plastic finish is pretty good.
The battery comes already connected to the internal power cords - which I did not expect, I was thinking it would ship like APC units do where you open up the battery compartment & connect it yourself, which is a safety in shipping thing, but it was not the case. In the 450W unit you get a 9Ah 12V SLA battery. It looks like a normal standard battery that I can replace at some point in the future when it quits.
Plenty of outlets on this thing, which is a pro & a con. Pro - there are lots of them, con, this makes them pretty close together & so if you have any slightly larger power bricks you are plugging in, you might be forced to use every...

Jerrson: I recently acquired the Amazon Surge Protector with a 400VA backup battery, and I must say that it has pleasantly surprised me with its performance and affordability. This compact power solution has proven to be a valuable addition to my electronic setup. Here's why I'm pleased with this product:
1. **Affordable Price**: The first thing that caught my attention was the price. Compared to other surge protectors with battery backup options on the market, this one offered a great deal without breaking the bank. It's a budget-friendly solution for anyone looking to safeguard their electronics.
2. **Compact and Space-Saving Design**: The surge protector's compact design is a definite plus. It doesn't take up much space, making it ideal for use in small offices, home workstations, or even on a desktop. Its unobtrusive appearance blends seamlessly with my setup.
