All-Natural Hemp Dog Treats for Calming & Relaxation

R. Hood: We have a street dog that has a hard time settling down without her hemp chews! We don't dare send her to the groomers without her chew! We have ordered them several times and still find them to be very effective for our dog.

Amazon Customer: These are great. I recommend them with the caveat that you test them on you babies. I urge you to use very small doses at first. Instructions said I could give my 80 lb lab 4 of these and my 50 lb mixed breed 3. I gave them each one and they slept all day and into the night. I will only give my big baby 1/2 and my smaller girl 1/4. This will settle them down enough for a car ride and a 3-4 hour nap. I really like these and so do my dogs. The instructions on the packaging are the only reason for me giving 4 stars not 5.

Cher Teague: My dog gets a little anxious when we leave. He is a rescue dog and his previous owner pawned him off on multiple people for days or weeks at a time. He hasn’t had a stable home until he came to live with us a year and a half ago. He still gets anxious when we leave and has escaped out of the door (he’s pretty smart, he figured out how to open a dead bolt) and he has clawed at the door jamb. I bought these treats after reading the reviews. I have given them to him daily since we got them. He has been pretty mellow and doesn’t act out. He is such a good dog but when you live in an apartment you need to make sure your dog doesn’t destroy everything. So far these are working great. He loves the flavor and does tricks to receive them. For the price they are also great. Too many of the similar products are twice as much or more for the same supply.

Elizabeth Randle: It takes a few days to really take effect. My dog is a Brittany and he is severely afraid of Thunderstorms, Fireworks and isn't great with separation either. I can't say that the product stops him from being scared because that's not what it's for but he definitely is more relaxed with this product than he was with a previous hemp chew from another company. He's able to sleep through most storms now which is a huge improvement!! (Big Thunderstorms still need his closet but he's not as anxious) We are so happy with this product. My dog loves the chews and goes to the counter during the storm to ask for more so he understands they help him. He's a lot calmer when we have to leave him now as well. As long as we hug him before we leave he will go lay down instead of being clingy or running out the door when we try to leave.
If you're thinking about trying this for your dog I definitely would. It's not a miracle product but if you give it time you should see an improvement on their behavior!

sophist015: We rescued a pregnant dog and kept one of her babies (while the others were adopted out to secure homes). The baby is very high energy and at times a bit aggressive during play; she's also very afraid of car rides, while the mom is afraid of thunderstorms. We thought this would be helpful for all of these reasons. I see slight progress when given consistently, and would like to continue to do so, though to be fully transparent, the baby's behavior has only really calmed down since given a prescription anxiety medication from her vet. (They were boarding with them at their pet resort while we were on vacation, and the mom needed to be finally treated for heartworms that she came to us with. The baby demonstrated severe separation anxiety, so they decided to administer a prescription medicine to calm her down. She does seem calmer than when we dropped her off.) In short, if your dog is on the severe side of any of these issues, I would consult your vet to see if s/he needs something stronger than OTC.
