Amazon Customer: Finally a book which helped me see why I will never go back to alcohol again. Thank you so much Craig for giving my life back.

Aspiring Author South Coast: I bought it to help me though Sober October 🤣 I did Dry Jan last year, but failed after two weeks this year! The pros of this book are that it made me want to stop drinking for life, not just October. All the questions I had in my head were answered, e.g. How will birthdays, holidays, and Christmas ever be the same again. I enjoyed how Beck describes alcohol as poison in sexy packaging, and slowly we are poisoning ourselves to death. His analogies are powerful and made me think differently. The big con is that Beck is selling all the way through. At the very least, he should have included the downloadable hypnosis he constantly refers to, but no. He constantly points you to his website – alas no download 😩Instead, he tries to get you to sign up to a 'free' webinar, in return for a copy of this book (so you don't need to buy it)! You have to PURCHASE the hypnosis separately on Audible, which I did. It is a good hypnosis. One last thing—it is a 3-hour book! I was pleased I could get the insights in a short space of time. I will report back in November! However, you may be disappointed if you like a long book.

Jorge Howell: A well written and interesting book. Heavy emphasis on additional paid products towards the end, but overall its very informative.

Reddog: We all should read this book to better understand how alcohol affects anyone that drinks the poison.
This guy is spot on I drank it for years a got up one morning twenty yrs ago and said “that’s it no more” thank God I haven’t touched it sense. It can easily become an addiction, easily. It’s legal, it’s socially accepted but it does more damage that most addictions. Read it even if you’ve stopped the madness. Tks

Tim: There are some good points made in this book. I appreciate that Craig does not go on abou the value of AA and he also does not take a religious stance. But he spends a lot of time saying the same things over and over again, one of the most significant of which is, When you're done reading this book you're going to agree with me that alcohol tastes terrible, that it's a harmful poison, and that there's really no good reason to drink. Apparently a number of people have found this approach useful but I don't.
I will say, though, that I do appreciate the overall sentiment throughout the book that alcohol's primary appeal is a result of massive amounts of money spent on marketing and advertising. One of the best angles he takes is like this: Someone asked me what I should do when I go to a social gathering and I can't drink. My response is, well, what do you do when you go to a social gathering and you can't shoot heroin? Placing alcohol in the same class as other mind-altering substances that are more universally accepted to be highly dangerous makes a lot of sense.

louise jane: This is the second time of reading Alcohol Lied to Me. The first time I didn’t drink for three weeks but sadly slipped back into drinking again. I am hoping to be able to abstain completely and find this book very helpful and informative

Debbie Hill: However!! Few grammar & spelling mistakes which always put me off!! Makes the book not 100% professional which always disappoints me!! I did stick with it & it does make a lot of sense despite this

I.A.O.: Truthfully, I was a little taken aback at the beginning, as the ideas seemed so strange at first, I had to tell myself to hold my horses and wait with the judgment to the end. I promised to myself that no matter what I will read this book cover to cover.
Firstly, I saw only differences between me and the author - different attitude towards alcohol, different problem, different home situation... I happened to live in UK for many years and I know several people with exactly the same problem as this guy. But not me. I was different.
And then, somewhere in the middle of the book, I couldn't lie to myself anymore. I had to admit that alcohol was in fact a poison and that it was a highly addictive one, too. No matter what you do, you get addicted to it eventually. It can take years or decades, but if you persist and regularly consume alcohol, it will be more and more difficult to quit. When faced with those facts, I knew I had no other choice but to quit it, which I did. I followed the steps in the book and haven't touched the alc for 2 months now. But more importantly I do not feel the sense of deprivation at all. Instead, I feel that I have finally given myself the freedom that...
