LouAnn Rowley: With time on my hands this was the perfect time to actually read Pilgrims Progress for the 1st time. I am taking it slow with so many characters and places to remember.I can’t imagine reading the original. This revision by Alan Vermilye I think is quite good and the study coupled with it is very helpful in understanding and life application. 3 cheers for this new revision of John Bunyan’s classic!

Nancy C.: I ordered this for my son and he said when he opened it, that it looked like someone was eating chocolate or something messy. He said the cover was not very presentable. He said he was still going to read it, however, I do not like that I paid money for a book was damaged.

CTROBINSON3: This is my first review and I just say I absolutely loved this book. About half way through I found the animated version on Prime. If you have younger kiddos have them watch the film while reading through the book. I found it very encouraging. The names of all the characters represent their character and that is just simply genius.

Kara: My pastor had mentioned this book and I went on a search to find it. At first, I was able to get the original copy but I had a hard time reading old English and understanding it. But I was determined as the first chapter was very intriguing. After reading a couple of different translations, I finally found Alan Vermilye’s version. I first found it due to the study guide and I have loved reading this book and doing the Study Guide along with it. The Study Guide is a great addition to be able to dig deeper into the book. I think whether you are beginning your walk with the Lord or are a mature believer, God’s Word has always something for each one of us.
There’s many Bible references and I love that the author spend time in making sure his translation would stay as true to the original work of John Bunyan. This translation is easy to understand and very captivating. I decided that I wanted to enjoy as much as I could, so I’ve taken my time doing the Study guide, but worth it. Stefano: This edition is written in simple,clear english, thus helpful for those who are not completely conversant with this language,but part 2 is missing,and the fact that it includes only part 1 of the whole book is not mentioned at all in the title.So ,afterwards,I had to buy the Penguin version,which is the complete book.I do not like dishonesty,especially in this case,where one is publishing a book treating of moral improvement.
