Kay collins: Bought this when we first moved into our house -I put it in the basement with gas dryer and furnace- and it had a constant reading of zero
The reviews were iffy so I wasn’t too sure, but the other day I came home after dropping my son off and heard the beeping
There was absolutely no smell, but we called our gas company to come check it out, turned out there was a leak in the pipe above the dryer, a very slow one that could have ended very badly if this had not notified us

John: I've had this for about a month and it seems to be working fine. The alarm is loud enough for me (similar to basic home smoke detectors) and since it's a plug-in unit, there is no installation hassle. I keep mine in the kitchen to monitor a gas stove that is getting up in years. I also used a marker to date the back of the unit so I know how long it's been in use. My only issues with this unit is that it's a little too bulky to use with a dual outlet with another plug-in. I sometimes have to unplug it in order to power another tool/appliance. It also takes a few minutes to set every time it's powered on from being unplugged, so keep that in mind.
