Joe DietrichJoe Dietrich: I mounted this in the vertical direction in our Travel Trailer - keeps the paper towel roll on the holder even if you are driving down a bumpy dirt road. As long as you don't mind the towel roll leaning out - works great in this application. I used both the screws and the double-stick tape. My buddy bought the same holder and he said the double-stick tape came off in the summer heat inside the trailer when stored. I gave three stars for sturdiness only because the rod part that attaches to the bar on the mount is a little flimsy. would not expect much if exposed to heavy everyday use. For our travel trailer should be fine.
