Mr. Roger H. Geyer: I have bought three of these now, after seeing the first one was well made and accurate. All consistently had readings within 0.2 degrees F of each other -- which is plenty good for me, and as advertised.

All seem accurate, worked just right out of the box, well made, with documentation (with very tiny lettering).

I found it easy enough to use that I didn't need to consult the documentation for basic use re putting in the batteries and intuitively using it to repeatedly take my temperature. (A plus, given all the complaints about similar Chinese units with POOR overall ratings which I didn't want to risk my money on). And these show up in a timeframe similar to what is promised.

I find it very accurate compared to others of the same model, and my old school ever-reliable mercury thermometer (which I don't like shaking down every time I use it, given my old, sore joints).

I had bought two more to have one for a friend without a good thermometer, and for redundancy as with COVID-19 around, I NEED to have a reliable way to check my temperature.

It's not cheap. However, in my experience, it's hard to find thermometers since...

Archer fox: Critical tool for this pandemic. Decided it was time to upgrade to a new one. Pop the included batteries in, set the time and date and its good to go. Super easy and fast readings! Point and click and its already done. Lightweight, easy to read large display, ergo grip and well placed buttons. Accuracy comparable to my old slower thermometers. This stays on my table now for quick and easy spot readings. Excellent upgrade.

Worked perfect the first time. Now it's hit or miss. You can press the scan button ten times and NOTHING happens. Then all of a sudden it works. Seems to have a very sensitive button. Right now these devices are hard to find and/or really expensive. This one would be a winner but it's too frustrating since it's intermittent. I might be generous in rating it a 3 star given its problems.

Adding to review--it now shows a reading about one in ten times. Really frustrating pressing the button and NOTHING happening. So, lowerng the score from three to one. I usually have good luck with stuff on Amazon, and more often than not show five star reviews. But not for this loser! Really too bad.

Jean M. Binswanger: We just got this. It seems to be a new product, so I thought I'd include a review to help others.

It appears to work fine on both me and my husband. Do read the instructions: you are supposed to point the device to the forehead, between the eyebrows, and just a little above the level of the eyebrows. Not elsewhere. Also, the device needs to be within 3 centimeters of the skin. Following these instructions, we got what appear to be valid readings. (I run 1 degree Fahrenheit cooler than my husband with every thermometer.)

I gave it a 4 because it says "this is a sensitive calibrated device," so "store it in the original packaging," because apparently if you get dust and dirt in it, it won't work well. The packaging is not ideal for long-term storage.
